i just ordered my ss mac catback this afternoon. Im having trouble deciding what to mate it with. I narrowed it down to either a mac offroad h or the offroad prochamber. i just dont know the sound difference. all the sound clips i hear are the mac catback with the prochamber. non are with just the offroad h. And i already dished out 500 on the catback. the h is only 180. And it doesnt come in ss. If i got the prochmber id probably just go ahead with the ss one. But if the difference in sound isnt that noticable then id probably just go with the H.

thanks for the help guys and gals.

O/R H is alot more.. and i mean alot RAW. Its louder, but not overly LOUD on my nonpi stang.

The O/R Prochamber is more of a catted H with a unique sound. Its more like a harmonizing sound, but it makes a sound that no other car with a o/r H can ever make.

Right now i have the o/r H on my car but after emissions im going to replace the o/r H with the o/r Prochamber to see how it sounds.

So far heres the setups i had on my car:

SLP LM1+mac catted h
Flowmasters+mac catted h
Flowmasters+o/r H
Mac Catted H+Mac catback!
Flowmasters+ O/R prochamber
Right now= Mac Flowpaths dumped with O/R H

If you want to hear the sound clips than let me know.

Btw, flowpaths dumped sounds exactly like a loud ass flowmaster when revved to red line in nuetral.

Shorter Clip of O/R H+Flowpaths- http://media.putfile.com/MIC-2007-06-16-20h40m34s SEX on Wheels =]

and
o/r prochamber+flowmasters with tips and tailpipes- http://media.putfile.com/Flows-and-prochamber Turn your bass all the way down to hear the unique prochamber sound.

What do i like better when asking about tone? O/R Prochamber

What do i like better overall? Prochamber...

What do i run now?? O/R h? Why its louder, but still has a nice tone most of the time. One thing the o/r H adds is a BLATTT which is annoying.. sounds like a harely davidson. But listen to my clip titled, "example of quiet cruise" Thats the o/r H and Mac flowpaths, but it will sound nothing like that unless you remove your tips and tailpipes. But i guess you get the idea alittle. SOUNDS FREAKING GREAT THOUGH!!

If you dont want really loud nor the BLAT than i suggest the O/R prochamber. If you listen to the clips than you can hear the sound difference. The prochamber has more of a AIRING type sound that sounds sicccccc in person and on clips while the o/r H is more raw and blatty.

Any questions!! Just ask.

i have mac longtubes, mac prochamber o/r and mac catback and get rediculous amount of compliments but the prochamber deff quiets the car down and it also generates a lot of heat in the trans tunnel area.i just switched mine out for a vrs x-pipe in hopes of a bit louder sound,we shall see

im prepared for the raspiness but im hoping it sound like a friend of mines, his sounds amazing, its a cobra but it sounds so good.i dont think it will be too bad,at least i hope not.i always steered from xpipes because i didnt like the high pitch of them but lately i been hearing some cars that just sound sick with them

The install part is easy.

It's the removal of the old pipe that sucks if you have the original rusty H pipe on there.:bang:

I'd give the whole process a 3 for difficulty and a 4.5 on the profanity scale if removing original H pipe. It would be a 1.5 for difficulty and profanity if not.

Hey Twista, if you have ramps.....how difficult is it to install the prochamber from a 1 to 5 scale? I've searched, and everyone has a different opinion on the install.

I use GREY rhino ramps for the front of the car. A small floor jack and jack stands.

The install would be a 1 because its not hard at all. If you can change a flat tire on a bikecycle than you can do it. Its just unbolting bolts and re-plugging in the same color sensors.

1 person should be able to do it w/o much problems. The chamber is abit heavy but im a small guy and still got it installed after awhile.

When i put on my o/r Prochamber i already had a Mac catted h installed from last winter. So the bolts was a bitch to get off, but not that hard. IF you have the stock one on than prepare to use a torch to heat up the nuts.

by the way.. just ramps will make the job hard.. very hard. You need the back of the car up also or else its going to be a bitch to unhook the midpipe from the catback plus undo/redo the sensors.

Just get some jack stands and use a small jack to lift the ass.

ya i think i have decided on the prochamber. i love the raw sound of the H but i dont really like the sound it makes when you take your foot off the gas. its blatty.
i guess my next question is should i go with the ss one? its a lot more money. its like an extra 150 bucks. i ordered the ss catback but would an ss prochamber be overkill. I dont really plan on driving the stang in the winter. i have a 94 taurus for that job.

i have the mac prochamber and love it. I did it my self on jack stands. for the pass side you will need an swivle adapter and 15mm socket and also a long extension. i would also recomend going to ford and getting a new gasket to install when you are doing it. Mac sent a gasket with my kit but it lasted about a year till i got a leak and had to replace it. other than the pass side connection to the exhaust manifold off the motor the rest is easy imo.
