Issues with the adjustable fuel pressure regulator

Has anyone had issues with their AFPR?
I have a BBK one, and I just noticed a few days ago that the pressure looked a little low when I was driving around.
So I unplugged the vac line, and the pressure only came up to 30PSI.
I bumped it up to 39, and got a mechanical gauge for the fuel rail. It was pretty close to what my electric gauge indicated, so I kind think it is the regulator that changed.
Just wondered if anyone else has had issues with their AFPR.

BTW, I am heading to the dyno tonight just to make sure the A/F ratio is still OK. Hopefully the thing holds together on the dyno, and I can post results.

I have a Kirban one and have never had a problem. Don't you have a little lock down screw that makes sure that the pressure does not change?

Yeah, there is a jam nut on the adjustment screw of the BBK, and that was still tight when I went to bump the pressure up.

It seems strange that the pressure would change then. Could it be a problem from before the fuel pressure regulator. A clogged fuel filter slowing things down? Or a fuel pump issue?

that BBK regulator is a giant piece of #@$!. I had one a while back and experienced the same issue as you have. Do yourself a favor and either have it rebuilt or chuck it. FWIW, I am running a Professional Products regulator at the moment with no problems what so ever.......plus it's only $65 new

i got the bbk and i dont have a prob with loosing pressure, i got a prob that the pressure dont change when i take the vac on and off. i fixed the line so i dont think thats it, the car runs pretty good also, for not being tuned anyways.

just wait, it will fail. Mine was fine for a year or so before I noticed I had to prime my fuel pump like 4 or 5 times just to get my car to start. Then the pinging began. The BBK employee I spoke with regarding the reg. even said that they have lots of problems with their regulators failing

I have been watching it very closely each time I get in the car, and so far it has stayed since I set it. I'll probably just bite the bullet and get a different one. The fuel filter and pump are no that old, so I am leaning toward a funky regulator.

If you get a new one my Kirban piece has been flawless.
