The thread of the nicest FOXES!

NICE FOX????

Hi 9 deuce gt

They are 19 x 8 inch with a 6 inch backspacing symbolic XR series. I dont even know if they still make these wheels because i went to their site and it dosnt show. Anyway what do you think of the 19's on a fox? These are just mocked up on the car for now because i bought 4 of them from a woman with a lexus on ebay and she burned me real bad. She said they were repaired after being damaged and when i got them they were still damaged. I'm going to get them fixed in the near future and put them on the car, but for now i am rolling the chrome elite avalons 17 x 8.5 with 235/45zr17 tires. I need instructions on how to post a new thread and pics so someone email me that info please. Here is a close up of the symbolics.

dude your car is sick...i love the paint scheme, and the rims match it perfectly:nice:

Thanks very much, it was lots a work but well worth it.

Apparently... just got around to this months MM&FF and immediately recognized it from this thread. :nice:

Had to laugh at the feature though, with the whole "rope a dope" theme. The relevance is lost on me. Particularly this part:

"...the Allens wanted a car that would dupe others into thinking it could be beaten easily, all the while having the ability to unload a knockout punch with precision and deadly accuracy."

I'm sorry, but either Frank was making crap up in traditional car magazine fashion to make his writing sound more interesting, or you guys failed miserably. With the huge cowl and giant intercooler piping in front, the plethora of Turbo badging and draglite wheels on the sides, the sumped tank and braided lines big enough to push a hot dog through in the back, or the padded cage you can see through every window; anyone stupid enough to see this car from ANY angle and think it will be easy to beat has got to be a complete idiot. You don't even have to be into Mustangs at all to see from four lanes over that this thing should crank like a Ducati.

:rlaugh: :rlaugh:  Good point

I don't think we failed at anything, I never tried to make the car a sleeper, just gave them the tech info and they wrote the article. Car makes the cover of MM&FF I'm happy I think that is huge. Thanks for the black cloud:shrug:

i think they only meant that you didnt exactly try to make it a sleeper, but the story kinda makes it out like you did.

That's exactly what I meant. If I was picking on anyone, it was the wingnut who wrote the feature. I love the car, but to me nothing about it says "sleeper"- it doesn't remotely look like that's what anyone had in mind building it. That makes me wonder if whoever wrote the feature even talked to you first... or looked at the car they were writing about because they look ****ing clueless. I'm sorry if my sarcasm was misleading, I certainly meant no offense to the Allens. Getting not only a feature but also a cover spread is definitely an accomplishment to be proud of, the whole thing is awesome and you guys deserve it. Sometimes I just wish "car journalism" only involved pictures and parts lists, because the writers who seem to think they're going to win an Oscar if they embellish every sentence and fabricate a back story the owner never gave them just makes me sick.

Hello LUVMY88

Nice ride. What color blue is that? Some 18 inch black bullets or some chrome or polished 18's would set that thing off. By the way how are those headlights working out for you. Do they get condensation build up? How much were they and where did you get them? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, color is Grabberblue, got the paint code form the old Mach 1's with that same color/paint scheme. There was also an issue of FF&MM that had a car with this same paint scheme a few years ago.

As far as the headlights go I love them, no condensation build up yet, but I only drive it on sunny days, never sees rain or snow, etc.

I'm saving money for new wheels right now and was thinking 17 or 18 black bullets as well :nice:

I guess I can post on here now I still need headlights and rims but here goes
