Personally, i think when you have a decent amount of power, sticky tires and you slam second or third, that's what kills a t5.
If you aren't shocking the drivetrain there is a good chance you aren't going to break the transmission.
You could put 500rwhp through if it your tires suck, power contributes to it, but i still think tires and traction are what destroys them.
