Will 1.6 R.R fit under stock valve covers?

stud mount or pedestal? pedestal will fit no problem. stud mount you will have beat the baffles out, i did that to get mine to fit but now it blows oil out of the breather and onto the headers
Pedestal should not be an issue.
With stud-mounted, some designs are taller/wider and you will either need to trim the oil baffle, or completely remove it
The oil baffle is located directly below the oil fill hole on the passenger side

my stock ones would not fit at all with my scorpion 1.6 stud mounts. i took a lot of material out of the inside and they still wouldnt work.

whats that? pedestal over stud? not really. i like my stud mounts a hell of a lot better than the pedestal ones i ran on my old setup. pedestal rockers are a huge PITA to set up right using shims to get the right preload on the lifter, it looks simple enough...just bolt em on right? no...the bolt has to be torqued down, but lets say you have a few thousands milled off your heads well now when you bolt that rocker down your going to be putting that much more pre-load on the lifter. (my heads had been shaved 3 times and this was a real problem for me) but to correct the problem you have to put shims of various thicknesses under each pedestal to raise the rocker up. it takes forever to do, bolt em on check the preload....unbolt em try a shim, rebolt em....check em...repeat.
stud mount as real easy to setup. you just tighten em till there just pusing on the pushrod and give em 1/2-3/4 of a turn to set the preload and then lock em down.
performance wise... a 1.6 RR is a 1.6 RR, the way in which it attatches to the head doesnt make a difference in power
Hey thanks guys, well the whole point of this thread is i'm buying chrome valve covers and i really like the stock chrome valve covers but i think i'll just get some TFS valve covers and have them chromed!?

GAH i know man, i hate adjusting pedestal rockers. my pedestal crane/ford 1.7's fit under my stock valve covers but i had to take out the baffle. but now oil is getting to my intake, so i just bought some oem 95 cobra valve covers which is raised where the baffle is. don't run valve covers without baffles unless you want oil getting to your intake. its just not worth it.

Thanks for the breakdown woodyy24. It was a bit daunting the first time I installed my Crane rockers but it wasn't too painful. I also had to remove my baffle.
