What's better 17" or 18" for 99-04 mustangs?

18's are heavier (unless you get a more expensive rim)
18's are better for handling while 17's are better for hooking because more side wall
18" tires cost a hell of a lot more
18's are rougher of a ride than 17's
for me i went with 18's 18x10, 18x9 saleens. but i am going to switch to 15" prostar or telestar when my tires wear out

18's make my c-springs looks more like a sportline drop while still having some ground clearance. 17's dont fill up the wheel well enough IMO
ok, whoever votes for 19inch or even 20inch is just plain retarded

18s look WAY better because they fill in the huge Jeep-looking 4X4 gap. Hell, I have a 1.5" drop, and I STILL want it lower. 18's are heavier, but you can run a 18X10" rim, slap on a 315 tire, and make up for the weight with traction
As soon as my tires are gone, I'm getting 18" FOR SURE

Sometimes it really depends on the style of the rim, some look better if different sizes. However after pondering back and forth with wheel size and style. I went with 17's, 17x9/17x10.5 . I honestly don't think 18's handle dramatically different then 17's with a nice tire on them. Cornering to me comes from the tires and the suspension, and understanding how to drive right. The 17's look alittle small with the stock suspension, but when dropped they tend to look bigger then they are. Plus I'd rather save some cash on tires for 18's.

19 isnt bad looking with the right suspension set up...my friend is running 19's on the back of his kenne bell cobra, and it looks bad ass

Traction is key for drag racing and that's what I'm about
17" wheel with the gap and the fat tires out the back.
18" x 10" (305's Nitto's run $294) smaller tire
17" x 10.5 (315's Nitto's run $191)
I guess I'm not ballin as hard as some of you yet.... I'm only 22
if you want traction for the track buy some used 15" rims w/ mickey thompson's. Then the other 98% of the time you can enjoy the stlye of 18's and not have to burn off that expensive rubber as you pointed out at the track
