Highest maintenance Ford color?

The air can get pretty dry here in Colorado and the dust is one major PITA.

yeah but the weather out there is friggin gorgeous so you have all the time to wash it.

id have to say Rio Red/Perf Red looks pink when its dirty. forget about fading if theres a film of dirt it looks pink

I didn't think white would be mentioned this often. Silver is a great color for a daily driver IMO. Mineral Grey and DSG seems to be low maintenance as well. Anything yellow is great during pollenated springtime.

But I think we can all agree the 99-04 rear bumpers magnetically attracts dirt and dust.

White is a pain to keep clean. As soon as you wash it, the birds target it non-stop. I swear I wash it some days late mornings and the next day there is crap all over it. Also if it rains and the leaves are falling, it leaves a nice yellow stain and sometimes a fun fall print!

Seriously, white is horrific. If its not birds shi**ing all over it (honestly, it attracts them), ANY FORM of tree sap, leaves, ANYTHING will bleed a color into a white car if it sits on the car overnight and its humid or there is dew on the car in the morning. I have had to wash off so many brown spots from leaves and stuff its terrible.

Not to mention dust and dirt accumulate so dark on the rear bumper you can write a novel in on the bumper and read it from 20 feet away...

Id take a black car anyday. My GF has a black 6'r and yes, prints show up alot but when its clean its soooooo damn nice, and hers doesnt get that dirty with the same driving routine/habits as mine would.



And bigwoofie, I can fully beyond attest to the bird crap. Last year I had just washed my car before I went to class for the day. Totally spotless, it was great. I come out literally 55 minuts later and my car had been bombed with 63 individual splats of bird *****, and thats not counting what had splattered or run... I was so pissed I wanted to set fire to all the trees on earth so those bastard birds could nest no more!!!

It is true, contrary to popular belief, the average temp is very comfortable in Colorado (at least in the "lower" elevations).

The hardest color to keep clean is black. The most expensive color to have repairs done on is Laser red. The easiest color to take care of is silver or gray.

I have a Laser Red mustang, but its black without a question.

Black is worse than any other color to keep clean, its worse than red, its worse than white. Its worse than anything.

Your right mystichrome is more expenisve. I guess I should say, of the more common mustang colors the most exspesive is Laser Red.

trueblue isn't much better then Black.

Some wax are just impossble to get streak out from it.

since no one has mentioned it yet, Sonic blue always looks good from a distance even when dirty (IMO) but it is very expensive to get repaired and has similiar issues with black on swirls and streaks. Thanks to the two-tone look though it hides dirt and marks at a short distance (5-10 feet). Either way Sonic blue is my fav. color

laser red all the way. mine faded to pink before I even got the car, it's not pink during the day but in the right like this babys pink as all get out. It's almost enough for me to want to get rid of the car

Some of the prettiest colors are also the hardest to maintain. Honestly, for my next car, I'd probably get a color that is much less of a PITA.


Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if I end up driving a Mystichrome Cobra for a DD.

Black shows more blemishes than white does because of its darkness. White doesn't show off swirl marks, dings/dips in body lines, or other minor blemishes nearly as much as black. Literally the TINIEST little blemish shows up on black. Cleanliness I'd say both black and white equally but when it comes to showing small blemishes and other minor imperfections, black shows them off a lot worse than any other color.

This is all because of what I mentioned earlier, lighter colors don't show off luster/depth/wetness nearly as well as darker colors.

Mine fav color as well, sounds similiar to my deep forest green.....

if it's dark or metallic it's a sonna B to keep looking clean, have not fade out, and it shows the most blemishes. Even worse if it's dark AND metallic like laser red

+ on the true blue/dark highland green. They are both very dark metallic colors, which gives them the troubles of black and the troubles of metallic paint as was said. But looks sick when cleaned and waxed.
