guys im thinking of using this for my engine build now. i didnt even know about it until someone told me about it. i was just going to do a 4.6 stroker. this seems like a good thing to look into though.

looking for any information on it. my main question is does it drop right in to my car with no modifications. (2002 gt) im not looking for anything i have to modify at all, that is why i dont want to do an aluminum block build.

now they say it fits 2,3,and 4 valve heads. thats great i know it will work but i dont want to do extra work like drilling coolent passages or finding a different timing cover...

what do you guys know? any info or experiance with that?

yea, i was thinking it could get too expensive...but its an option. i will atleast do a stroker so that will run a little over 4 grand. the boss will be about 5 and a half. its a bit high and i dont know it ist worth all the fitment issues i might have.

im talkin to mph about it and i want to see what they say about fitment and all that. if i dont have to make many modifications i will think about it.

Whats wrong with block in your GT? can't you just punch that one out? I mean, 2 g's for a block? If I were going to spend that much money, on a block, I would go to a Dart pushrod and make 500whp without any power adder

i dont have the means to have the block pulled from the car and built while the car is just sitting in the shop all that time.

anyway, you cant really bore our iron blocks only the aluminum ones.....that is even more expensive. my block would become too weak if it was bored out wouldnt it?

You can have bored and sleeved if you like. It ends up costing alot to have the cylinders bored out that much and then sleeved properly. Now that the 5.0 bore block is available that's a better choice IMO, just costs alot up front, heh.

i was reading about it a bit but didnt fully understand what they are talkin about. one thing said, i think it was in 5.0 mag, that something needs to be done to the deck height and something to the ports to make it work right. not sure what they were talking about bu if thats the case, its more trouble then its worth...i think. :D

I'm not sure on specifics with these motors. I do know that you won't take advantage of the big bore as much with heads that have stock diameter combustion chambers. Larger chambers and bigger valves really wake it up. But again, from what I've seen and I know a lot of others have commented on in your other thread, modular 302 strokers don't seem to gain much of anything on a blower setup - so even without big heads a big bore would probably make more power (just my assumption, I can't provide any real evidence to support this, but I'm sure somebody can, heh). For real accurate info call some engine builders like MMR or MPH directly and get their opinions on stuff :D

not really looking for other options here, but thanks. its either going to be a forged stroker or this boss. both of which will be a 2v because that is the ported heads i already have.

everyone always says bb eats stroker. that is true, but the cost is high.....that is why people go with the stroker. if the stroker \makes any power over the stock crank seems to be debatable. i really dont know. just looking for somewhat of an edge over just a forged shortblock.

anyway, this thread is about what needs to be done to make this block work not other options. for options there is another thread under talk section.

so, mph says this block will bolt right up to everything fine. i dont know about the 8 rib pulleys and the belt that i have for the novi. i dont know if all those are in the same place. if not its not going to work. i mentioned them in the email and was simply told everything will work.

still didnt find out anything about emissions after swapping a shortblock. thats any shortblock for that matter. either way i amy going to get one, just wanted to know if id have some trouble getting passed for emissions.

well, i have to think this over, i do think that 5,500 is a bit too high. i will prob. still go with a regular stroker. we'll see.
