Power steering box conversion?

A while back I thought I saw/read an article about a company doing a power steering box conversion that would let you remove the slave cylinder from under the car. I know this post is vague, but anybody remember? I did a search and found that absbrakes was supposedly working on one but didn't see it on there site.

There was an article recently in either Mustang Monthly or Mustang and Fords. As I recall, the company is ABS Brakes in Anaheim , CA (I believe - don't recall the specific city, but the artaicle was dealing with their prototypy version. check them out on the internet. I have used their products in the past with good results. I also believe Reenmachine has used some of their products also

www.abspowerbrake.com is the company that makes it. they are working on a box with a new casting specific to the mustang conversion but until then they are still selling the modified toyota box.

CPP also plans to produce a power steering box as well. I doubt they will have one ready any time this year.

they will send you an email back saying something like they are working on the new casting and it should be available soon but in the meantime they still have the conversion available with the standard box. or something to that effect, at least that was the last response i got from them anyway.

Is the conversion kit on their site? I couldn't find it when I looked, I saw a reman. box but it didn't say anything about it being for the conversion.

no they don't have anything on their site right now, i think they are waiting until the new box casting is ready before they add it.

That's the ABS-kit with a Toyota box. Look in "new products" on their site.

i'm interested in this swap,but do you guys think it would feel better than the j-body R&P swap (tight steering wheel feel)?

The steering feel should be just about as good and require WAY less work to install.
