how would this rickflow item strengthen a stock block with stock internals?

i had a little argument with a friend. he said trickflow item TFS-51500700 its a main cap girdle, will strengthen the block where it could handle 500 hp with out exploding. I told him the girdle wont stop the block from being destroyed or the internals either.
besides beating sense into him what can i tell him?

Girdles typically only help with cap walk and holding the halves together after it splits. They won't make the block any stronger, but you may be able to salvage the rotating assembly if you use one and crack the block in half.

Agreed. While a main girdle won't prevent you from splitting the block it hopefully will keep everything in the proper location so that you can reuse the rotating assembly

The only gridle assmbly that would be useful isn't made. It would need to be all 5 main caps and pan rails as one piece. The girdle would need to be bolted in place and the block line bored. I have never seen one with this type of design advertised.

The block would still be prone to splitting in the lifter valley, but the bottom end would hold together.

it does help with some problems, but cracking the block down the middle is not one of them.

5.0s tend to split from the top down. It will not make the motor any more capable of holding power. It will keep the mains from walking though.

Which is better corrected by using better hardware, like ARP bolts instead of a girdle. I was trying to sell my girdle on craigslist because it wouldn't fit my oil pan. Instead of buying a 400 dollar pan to clear it, I bought ARP bolts for 20 bucks and used the oil pan I had, and someone sent me an email telling me how stupid I was for taking the girdle off and he was ranting and raving about how the engine needs it blah blah blah. Well I just laughed at him.
