I am getting ready to order some lowering springs for my 91 GT. I am only going to go about 1 to 1.20 inches for the springs. My question is...can you use regular shocks and struts or do you need lowering shocks? If you do have to use lowering shocks does anyone know a part number from Summitt? Thanks for the help. It is appreciated.

regular is fine... youll need Caster/Camber plates though. Some get the X2 balljoints or whatever they're called because they help lower the suspension geometry, but they are not necessary to lower a car...Just springs and almost always C/C plates!

cc plates are not a must. people just put them on to make alignment easier, and depends on how low u lower it. u just have to know how to align it. right now i have 4 cyl springs in the front of my car with no isolaters and my k-member sits 3" off the ground. i aligned it with no cc plates and the camber i set a 0 degrees and the caster i think was at 3 degrees. there nice and lok good but ill save the $200

yep , what myslo50 said . You can drill out the rivets that hold the stock cc's in place to get more adjustment . with your drop , any shock combo wil work , even stock replacements , anything will be better than your 17 year old factory deals . Check good 'ol ebay , I got a nice deal on my KYB's .

The shops in my area tend to shy away from doing alignments on cars that have cc plates.
drilled out the rivets and moved the strut to my desired degree. i work in a shop, so i can align it myself. u can also buy a alignment guage form summit i think and do it yourself. i think its in the circle track section. cc plates make it easier to align than stock cc plates. shops shy away because they say they cant align it to oe speck. sometimes a car is lowered too far where camber cant be pulled out without tearing up the tire after align. and most places just set the toe and let it go and dont mess with camber/caster, if it is not out of speck to far. because the tech's are flatrate and takes to long. the tech will lose money.... ive seen it.

Bullitt Springs will drop your car close to an inch and you can use Bullitt Struts and Shocks as they are matched to the Springs. I think that Aftermarket CC Plates are a must on any Fox as the Factory ones have so much slop in them and just deflect when you take corners aggressive.
