come join us in October!
I was looking at all the empty seats while watching the broadcast. You think the cold weather kept them away? I heard AMS was having trouble selling all their tickets for the spring race.

it's funny you say that. As we were leaving, some snaggle tooth trailer park lady, with her 8 shirt on, was chanting "an Earnhardt should be driving for an Earnhardt!" I laughed at her and said "he's doing better now!" :D
+1. I think he has less to worry about now and can spend more time concentrating strictly on racing.

WooHoo! Another top 5 for Jr. I'd say the marriage between Jr. and the Hendrick's cars is going quite well.

Congrats to Toyota....

:notnice: Tony Stewart going on a complete rant against Goodyear tires. Totally uncalled for and childish IMO. :notnice:

U.M.

Nah, he has every right to. He is simply stating what others would like to but don't cause they're sceeerrreeeddd!

Hey UM, why doesn't Nascar let every team decide what brand tire to run?

And as a matter of fact, they can and DO penalize people for having a more powerful engine. It cost Mark Martin a championship in the early 90's and that was for a negligible power advantage, not the 20 extra hp 'Yota is allowed to get away with.

I thought the rules were in place to ensure parity.

Sure, but if you build an engine within the rules that makes more power, I say it's up to the competition to step up.

Was the engine legal/within the rules?

I understand where you're coming from, but I just thought 'parity' meant 'equal'. Granted, I'm a Ford fan. I am biased. (quite biased, actually) I've watched the past three years as Chevrolets have won the championships with obviously dominant cars and it's all good and well. The Ford teams (or any of the other teams, really) didn't bitch, they just said they needed to step it up. (That's not saying I didn't bitch. I did. At length) Now many teams are saying Toyota has an advantage. If they didn't bitch last year and their bitching now I gotta assume something is seriously out of balance here.

Gordon finishes 11th. :nice:

Johnson finishes 18th. :nice:

Stewart leads the most laps and then is taken out by Harvick right at the end.

(Karma's a bitch Tony... maybe you shouldn't have publically bad mouthed Goodyear like you did. Looks like the racin' gods pissed on you this weekend.)

Earnhardt snags another top 5 finish! :nice: :nice: :nice: :nice:

not a bad race at the ol' paperclip. HMS finished all cars in the top 10 and all ran well 90% of the time. the 24/48/88 (hey, just putting them in numerical order) led a crapload of laps. Jr must have ran in the top 10 the whole race... he kept his car clean and out of the wrecks, unlike the 24 and 48 :(

I think Jr moved to 4th, Gordon to 9th, JJ moved to 10th, and Mears to 27th :(

Ol' DW was ragging on Mike Skinner. At one point, he said there's nothing he hasn't hit :D Yet, he defended his brother the whole time. That's about my only gripe with DW, but it's understandable.
