Anyone know how to install the shifter Block, spring, and Ball that go in the tailshaft (these are part of the shifter which I had to remove to switch tailshafts)?

I cannot figure it out and my Ford Manual just says to do it and not how....am I missing something really simple???

I assume you are having problems with the ball and spring that go under the block and ride in a channel as you move the lever left and right. My son and I recently took his 3650 apart tracking down a shifting problem. I do not remember having a problem getting it back together, it was primarily an issue of getting the ball and spring properly located. You might try some grease to hold the spring in the shift block. Then it is a matter of mating the spring and ball in the track and holding the block as you guide the shaft into the hole made for it. I do not recall but we might have done this as we installed the tailshaft which might be easier since you can hold the shift block (spring and ball in place) and then as you slide the tailshaft on the shaft can be guided into the block. Still a bit tricky to get the hole to line up in the block / shaft, just make sure the shaft and block are squeaky clean where they mate so there is no interference that will make it harder.
