Man I thought OSU would be more competition. I saw the score flash on the light ribbon at LSU and it was 14-3 in the 1st half. Figured they would come around. Then saw the final and was kind of shocked. I think USC is the team this season.

Well, I've seen the future, and the future is Pryor. I'm going out to buy a replica jersey today, it will be #2 and the name will be Start Me. Should be good for a few laughs next week for the game against the other Trojans, the mighty men of Troy State. COramprat, since you didn't get to see the game, it was similar to last year's title game against LSU. We were in the game, even at 14-3. We drove down the field and threw away a TD with a holding call, then missed the FG. After that, the almighty Todd Boeckman (who I've made perfectly clear that I've felt all along could/will be our downfall) throws a Pick 6 to make it 21-3, then fumbles away the rock on the next possession. I know some of you will argue with me and call me a homer, but I don't think our defense played that bad. If the freakin' offense could have done anything to put pressure on USC, it would have been a much closer game. As it was, the USC offense could gamble and take some chances since they were sitting on an 18 point lead and the OSU offense was no threat at all. The problem is Boeckman is incapable of checking down to his 2nd and 3rd option and has happy feet. If you have National Title aspirations, you can't have those traits in your QB. Mark my words, Pryor will be the starter within 3-4 weeks as he learns the playbook and gains more experience and Boeckman will not see the field again unless Pryor goes down with an injury.

Why is OSU ranked so highly? Don't they get spanked pretty badly every time they play a good team?

Jesus Christ, we won the title in '02 by taking down a great U of Miami team. We took Texas to the final minute in '05 when they went on to beat USC for the title and then took it to them in '06 at Texas. If your memory only goes back 18 months, then it does look bad, but we have won against top ranked teams and we will do it again. Just not with Boeckman as QB, which hopefully will only be another 2-3 weeks while Pryor learns the playbook and get's some more experience.

Don't feel bad man...looking at our QB's last night it looks like we may have some issues. I know then score doesn't show it but they can't hit a pass more the 20 yards. Auburn must be licking their chops.

Too bad our game with Troy was postponed last week due to Gustav. Would have been interesting to see how the two teams fared against a common opponent.

Yep, that game was horrible last night. I was hoping they would of kept Pryor in instead of switching them in and out. With Pryor in, the moved the ball. With Boeckman, they sucked. :nonono:
there were a few qustionable calls that went USC's way. The intercetption, were he ran it in for a touchdown, He stepped out on the 4 yard line. They still would of probalbly scored though. Then the fumble, were two USC guys jumoped on the ball, they said they had possesion of it, :nonono:. After replay you could see when they jumped on it, the ball shot out which one of the OSU guys then recovered, but, still gave it to USC:nonono:. Nothing that would of changed the game but a few things that did go in USC favor that should not have. Oh well, what are going to do.

I will be at The Shoe next week against Troy. Going to have a blast. :nice: They better do good

What does Jesus have to do with this?

Well I guess this is another crappy season.

New coach and apparently they lost most of their starters on defense (I didn't know that). And I didn't know they don't even have a freakin' fullback. wtf?

I had hoped they might mix it up a bit rather than trying to run it straight up the middle all the time, but I see that hasn't changed.

And poor old McAfee...

I seem to be a fan of the two most up and down teams in football...WVU and the Steelers.

Well, the OSU vs Troy State game is on the Big Ten network, so most of you are not watching the game. Here's the brief update for right now. Buckeye's receive the kickoff and Tyrell Pryor get's the start. Moves the team down the field, mostly with his feet, but on First and Goal, makes a nice little pass to an open Tight End for his first career passing TD. I know it's Troy State and all, but after how the Buckeye's fizzled in the Red Zone against Youngstown State and Ohio University, let alone the embarrassing performance against USC, it was nice to see them come out with some energy and drive down the field to score a TD on the opening possession.

PS Todd Boeckman did come in for 1 play on which he handed off to the RB and then trotted back off the field.
