The Official NCAA College Football Thread

Sorry I know I am going to get blasted but the SEC is so over rated this year. The b12 is better and its not close.

Auburn, UT, South Carolina are all not that great. Florida and Georgia are good but were way over hyped at the beginning of the year. LSU hasnt played anyone. Bama is really the only team in that whole conference that has shown what its made of. I mean Vandy is leading one of the divisons.

Its not only who the top B12 teams have played but how they have won. There have been quite a few ugly games SEC teams have won or lost that if they were as good as they thought wouldn't have been close.

OKlahoma has nearly scored 50+ on everyone and they have two quality wins against 4-1 Big East contender Cincinnati and 4-1 MWC contender TCU.

Texas has blown out SEC Arkansas and Colorado on the road. They have also scored nearly 50 points a game and have dominated every team they played. Btw 5 of their next 6 games are against top 20 teams.

Missouri beat Illinois in its first game, blew out Nebraska for its fist win in Lincoln is about 30 years. They have also never really had a close game except IL who scored a ton towards the end of the game.

Texas Tech hasnt really played any great teams but also the games have not been close. They have blown everyone out by 30 points except when they played @ Nevada and the won that one by 16.

Unlike the SEC teams, the B12 teams have beaten everyone they were supposed to. Their offense are 10X more explosive than any SEC offense. Florida is basically Tebow and Harvin, UGA got exposed by a very good Bama team.

The SEC has better defenses but I would wager OU, Missouri, Texas Tech, and maybe even Kansas would score at minimum 30 points on any SEC D.

Now lets look at the SEC unbeatens

LSU 4-0 - App State, North Texas, @ Auburn , Miss State I guess you could say Auburn is their toughest game, Auburn sucks and mightly LSU won by 5.

Vanderbilt 5-0 - Miami (OH), South Carolina, Rice, Ole Miss, @ Auburn They certainly should be ranked but they played two cup cakes and 3 bottom half SEC teams.

Bama 5-0 - The only SEC team with Resume especially in the OCC. They blew out Clemson, but they also got beat by Maryland so yeah. The exposed UGA and could have beaten them 62-0 if they didnt pull the reigns back in the second half.

Imo Florida, Georgia, Auburn, and Tennesee are all WAY over hyped comming into the year and their results have proven that. Tebow cant win a game if they trail in the 2nd half, he is superman but pressure is his cryptonite. Auburn has maybe the worst offense of any BCS team in any conference. UGA has a great RB, a senior QB who has never taken the next step, and a coach that always seems to lose a big game. UT just plain sucks, 3 BCS teams played and 0-3 in those games.

I think Vandy will come back to earth, they are not as good as LSU, Bama, or even UF or UGA imo.

Alabama if they can avoid the fall like last year has proven to be the class of the league. LSU may well be better but needs to play a team with a pulse to prove it.

FYI, tennessee was not overhyped this year. they werent even ranked in the preseason! lol

i'm not even going to argue with the points you made on who the big 12 people have beaten, cause i dont wanna enter a pissing match.

i'm pretty much saying "eff it" and letting it happen as it may

Well, I didn't get to watch the Buckeyes game until yesterday. It was a little ugly and TP made a few rookie mistakes (missed reads and a few mediocre passes), but overall, he did what he needed to help the team win when it was on the line. He made the highlight run for the winning TD, but also made a couple good passes on that drive too. Beanie is looking good too. Overall, anytime we go into Wisconsin and get a win, I'm happy. Wisconsin was the one Big Ten team that Tressel had a losing record against.

Auburn may well be on their way down but they were the #9 ranked team in the country and LSU beat them at their house. No easy feat. The last 6 games were won by the home team no matter who was considered good and that team wound up as the SEC West champ. Look at it as OU/OSU type rivalry.

Granted this may be a down year in the SEC but you have 3 undefeated teams so far and 5 teams 4-2 or better. Big 12 has 5 undefeated, one at 4-1, a few barely above .500 and the rest are worse. So to me the comparison is pretty close instead of miles apart like you insinuate.

3 of Auburn's 6 loses last year and this year were at home, Apparently its not that tough.

Among those loses at home they included South Florida and Miss State. Ill give ya the LSU loss since LSU is a very good team but come on. They lost to USF and Miss State two games in a row last year.

The top of the Big 12 is stronger, Ill give ya the bottom half of the SEC is probably better.

Id like to see the following though...

OKlahoma vs Alabama
Missouri vs LSU
Texas vs Georgia
Texas Tech vs Florida
Kansas vs Vandy
Ok State vs Auburn
