So today I got out of work early, and came home to do my 3G alternator upgrade. Everything went fine until i took out the lower bolt that held in the alternator. There must have been a defect in my stock bracket because the lower arm that holds the alternator in with the compression bushing snapped off. I called a Ford dealer for an OEM replacement and they quoted me $376 for the BRACKET because it is discontinued and no longer produced.
I called over 30 junkyards on Long Island and no one has one or has had one for a long time. Can anyone tell me if there's an aftermarket bracket that would work? I have underdrive pulleys and a slightly shorter belt, but I still have my smog pump. Does anyone have one laying around? (MODS: please don't delete the thread, this is not a WTB ad, i am just in a bind right now) Thanks in advance. Here's a pic, it will probably make you just as pissed off as I am right now

I've used it for a repair in the past. You should be able to get buy until you can find another bracket if you just bolt it in place with the broken piece. You still have 2 attachment points to secure the alternator, the top bolt and the rear part of the bracket. It should be strong enough to hold the alternator in place.
