Help me spend my tax return....

alright fellas, i plan on spending some of my tax return on suspension but i have a couple questions first.
I currently have eibach sportline springs with stock shocks/struts (was this way when i bought it) i want to upgrade the shocks/struts. what do you think is the best shock/strut combo for the 2" drop of the sportlines? I'm definitely not trying to break the bank here so the cheaper the better.

secondly do i need cc plates? would i be able to install them? and after the install of the cc plates i have to get an alignment correct? what cc plates would you suggest?

I have Steeda Sport springs with Strange adjustable shocks/struts: The shocks retail for $69.50 each and the struts go for $119.50 each (they are 10 way adjustable). Maximum Motorsports makes some nice CC plates and you should definitely get an alignment done.

In this day and age, you really ought to think about saving it...at least the majority of it. Or pay off (or pay down) high interest credit cards.

BUT, if you have enough in your IRS Saving Account, you will wear out shocks and struts much more quickly with a 2 in drop, so those would be a good choice. Strange has great prices for their stuff and it's adjustable.
For CC Plates, Maximum Motorsports :: The Leader In Mustang Performance Suspension is simply the standard product for Mustangs. You can have an alignment done with the OEM plates, but their adjustability is very limited. Any aftermarket CC Plate has about 10X more adjustability, which allows you to compansate for the 2" drop, as well as dialing in some additional negative camber if you like to throw it into the corners. Check out MM's FAQ section, in particular the FAQ on CC Plates.

I lowered my ride with ebach springs several years ago and since the ride is stiffer it wore down the stock struts and shocks. I found this note on brothers performance and had Goodyear install 87-93 shocks and struts and they were able to do a full four wheel alingment with out cc plates or anything. I do have poly bushings and spacers from when I installed the springs. It rides great with the 87-93 shocks and struts and hardly ever bottoms out now. They said the only differance were the 87 were actualy 1 1/2 inch shorter than the 94-04 which is actually how much the springs lowered the car. It looks about 1/2" lower now.

Lol thats the point of the stimulus package though to "stimulate" people to go out and spend it and get some much needed cash flow going again. Thats the one of the only things thats going to get us out of this recession at this point. I don't blame Americans though for being a little over cautious at this point with the way things are now though.

Back to the original post though. KYB makes a pretty decent shock/strut package. The non adjustables (GR2) they sell go for like $170 for all 4 on ebay and you can get all 4 of the adjustable ones (AGX) if you want for like $443 or something like that.

My car is plenty low for me and i would like to keep it around the same height it is at now because the terrain around where i live is not exactly flat anywhere....

The point is that with the 94-04 shocks and struts you are at or near bottoming out. With the 87-93 you have the full range of motion. Forgot to say they put Monroes on it. Didn't really lower it any more just have more travel. Really drives alot better though. Should have done it from the start.
