I dropped the car off at the shop today for them to see if they can straighten the k-member.

For those of you who haven't followed my other threads, my son was driving the car in early January (20 degrees out), lost traction (summer tires), and went over a curb. I am already out $800 for new wheels and tires. If they can't straighten the k-member, I'm looking at probably over a grand for a new one and installation.

Wish me luck!

i am considering getting it painted while it is there ... they are a body shop and the guy might give me a discount if i have him paint it too ...

maybe it'll be ready to be nominated for car of the month then!

ugh, bad news.

the guy says that he could probably straighten it but it would weaken it to where he is not comfortable with it.

so i need a new k-member

he also said it will be 2 months before he could look at painting it. racing season is starting and that is alot of his clientelle

look at your local classifieds i keep seing them for $200 on craigs list... i got mine for $175 new...

dang, i wish it was that easy ... mine drops the motor 3/4", and if i go to stock height, the hood probably won't close any more. but there may be some mounts that can lower the motor

the other worry is that the headers may not clear a stock k-member ... i remember it was a really tight fit on the passenger side.
