difference between OEM and FRPP clutch cable?

Looking for a new OEM clutch cable for my fox and they want $140+ for a cable. The FRPP cable is $70. Whats the difference in quality? I heard the OEM is the best.

I may not be the best advice but what kind of clutch do you have? I always read on here to not go adjustable but I've used an oem non adjustable one from buyfordracing.com for like 40 bucks (read sticky before you buy from them though) It snapped after about a year. I went with a cheap parts store one for like 30 bucks, and that one snapped in less than a year, and I bought another parts store one and have been running it with no problem for a about 6 months, and hasn't stretched yet. Im not sure what the problem was, I have a king cobra clutch and a Maximum Motorsports firewall adjuster. It would just keep stretching and I had to keep adjusting it with the firewall adjuster until it wouldn't adjust anymore and it would just snap. I was told by a mustang friend to go with a ZOOM adjustable, pretty sure you can order them for like 80 bucks at advance. Hope that helps. I wouldn't spend 140 bucks on a cable though.

ive been down this road. my suggestion is to get the Maximum motorsports clutch cable and a FWA and you wont have any problems.

I will be using a Mcleod RXT twin disc. I already bought the richard racing micro-click FWA. Its sweet as hell. No idea if the MM cable will work with that. They say it will only work with their adjuster.

I used the ford racing cable for 30 thous miles and its still holding up with my hays clutch, its a good cable.

It's more than likely the same as the ford oem part.
There is alot of parts that are cheaper as a ford racing parts than a regular oem part, even though they are 100% identical.

I also feel if you are breaking clutch cables, something is wrong.
I broke one, in 17 years, and that only happened because i installed headers myself and the header burnt the cable.
Also includes 5 or so differenent clutches, one of which wore the hell out of my leg it was so tough.
Certain clutches sometimes benefit from a slight spacing of the pivot ball, and or an extended fork.

Not true the one i got in a ford box was a cheap cable. Ordered the MM cable and adjusters.

i used a FRPP cable and it worked good for a while but it broke after a while.

its not the same as the OEM cable. the FRPP has an adjustable ball end down by the tranny. so a FWA isnt need with it.

I, too, have been down this road. I originally started out with a Ford Racing cable, Ford Racing quadrant, and a BBK adjuster. The Ford Racing quadrant was a nicely machined piece, but the geometry was poor. I had rubbing issues and no adjustment left with my cable (cable was too short). I went with a MM cable and MM quadrant, kept the cheap adjuster, and this setup has been great. The MM cable (Ford OEM) is definitely different than the Ford Racing cable. I would highly recommend it. It should work with many different combos.
