Suspension still knocking!

Ever since i lowered my car, ive had the worst luck with "knocking" in the front end. I started with Eibach springs, STOCK struts and UPR C/C plates. Since then, i replaced the stock struts with Tokico struts.... still knocked. Replaced the whole front end again with poly coil isolators, poly strut mount bushings. Put it all back together..... still knocks. I simply cannot figure it out. Can it be the C/C plates? This will now be my 4th time doing the front end.

Are your struts tightened down all the way? Test it by going up by the strut tower and "bouncing" the car up and down. When I first lowered my 04 i used to have it did that too, found out the cc plates shaft was a litte too short for the struts so I used a supplied spacer to fix it and tighten down.

yes, it could be the CC plates...I had some Steeda ones (I think) and the right side clunked and knocked pretty bad

It's mostlikely your C&C plates.99% of them will make a clunk/knock sound.Maximum Motorsports are supossidly the only ones that don't do it,but mine do have this issue slightly,so who knows.Nothing you can do to rid of it but turn up the stereo,and ignore it LOL!

UPR plates are JUNK!! thats what is causing your noise.

get MM plates and do it right this time!

i have MM 4 bolt cc plates, and i have never heard a single noise from them..........

It's mostlikely your C&C plates.99% of them will make a clunk/knock sound.Maximum Motorsports are supossidly the only ones that don't do it,but mine do have this issue slightly,so who knows.Nothing you can do to rid of it but turn up the stereo,and ignore it LOL!

I disagree with that statement. Once I got them set up correctly, I've never had a set make noise. I've had Ford racing cc plates and BBk, both installed and worked as advertised.

Thats what ive been thinking. At the time i just got them because they were the cheapest. Note to self: dont buy products from a company that makes Billet cupholder inserts.

Ill have to get some MM plates. Ive had enough of the clunking.

i've learned my lesson buying cheap UPR stuff too.

i tore the bushing out of my LCA after 1700 miles. UPR sent new bushings, but i ordered some MM extreme duty arms instead
the UPR stuff is fine for a sub 400hp car but it didnt hold up for **** with sticky tires and 600 hp!

+1 CC plates. I had the Steeda ones and the bearing that the strut goes through would move up and down in the plate against the snap rings causing a loud clunk. Come to find out it was machined wrong I sent it back for a new one. You can check this by putting the car on jack stands then jacking up one side of the suspension. As the strut comes up look for the CC plate bearing shifting in the plate. I have since switch to Hotchkis because they use a rubber insulators at the CC plate bearing to help with noise and harshness.
