I have a Black 2007 GT premium with Red Interior,Solid Aluminum shifter not leather wraped.
My question? Is it rare or is it a Dealer option ?
I live in the pacific North west and at times we do get Below zero weather.
So cold that if my hand is wet before entering the car and i grab the shifter my hand sticks to it.
So i have invested in baby socks wich work well.

Any info would be helpful.

Thank you all !

I don't think its rare, but not sure that it is particularly common either. I have it on my 2008. I forget if it is a part of the Interior Upgrade Package or the Premier Trip package.

It does get cold in the winter, but try having your car sit in 100 degree weather for an hour in the direct sun. The shifter is too hot to touch!

The solid phallus-like aluminum shifter is from the Premiere Interior Trim. The Interior Upgrade Package just has a "leather" wrapped shifter with plastic shift pattern and silver background - like the shifters Ford uses for the Ford Transit Connect and some other European models. The base trim uses a black rubber shifter with a black background shift pattern (like the Mazda and BMW shifters).

I would recommend wearing gloves in the winter. I live in SE MI and I start wearing gloves around late October.

heh never underestimate how important the steering wheel, shifter/knob, and seats are, after all those are the things that are DIRECTLY connected to you throughout your drive. My suggestion is to get one that you will be comfortable with not something that 6 months of the year feels like a popsicle or the wrong end of a soldering iron.

Idon't bragg or boooost but i do have some thing to say 444 Direct Horse power Quote(444DHQ).

Were talking about a shifter nob !!! Read the post thread.
A simple answer,Not some quatrian on what may be the answer,(FACT),not fiction.

444DHQ a 1 post member should think very carefully about his or her posts.

Starting a namecalling spree or attacks on other forum members over personal opinion on products is neither the way to make friends nor assure continued membership in this forum.

You've been warned.

Wow, let's not overreact here. Walter was making a valid suggestion, since you mentioned having a complaint with the current shifter. If you don't like his advice, don't take it, but don't think you're going to act like that and last here very long. As Walter said, you've been warned. :nono:
