Red line Heavy ShockProof gear oil for the rear ?

Just wonder if any body using this oil for their rear end mustang. I know redline is not recomment on mustang tranny, but the the rear, i jsut wonder.

wat is best gear oil to use for my rear diff ? i been use vavoline 80w90 for last 2 year without any problem. Should I stick the same thing ? the reason i ask because its getting alot colder here now.

I like mobil 1 synthetic. Not sure what weight is recommended though.

That's news to me. I've had it in my transmission for 15,000 miles now. No problems what-so-ever. The transmission shifts like butter.

I remember I did search few year ago, when i just bought the mustang, I came across this thread, and it say some one is talk to Tremec repesent , and they say never use redline product on their tranny.

Upgrade I did call redline today, and they say they not recomment me this product for my rear, they say 75w90 is better for my application.

The shockproof gear oil works great in the 8.8 rear ends.

Amsoil severe gear oil 75w90, rear is quiet as mouse. And it beats all its competitors in wear test, well worth the investment.

i have always used mobil 1 synthetic in my tranny, rear, and engine.

I used Amsiol 75W90 to break in my 410s but uped to Amsoil 75W140 like the owner manual calls for. Don't forget friction modifyer what ever you use.

GL-5 is 75w90 gear oil. I dont see why this wouldnt work in a rear end. Also, as mentioned already this is a pretty thick oil to put in a transmission IMO.

Yours an automatic/or standard? If standard is it the TR-3650 by chance?

Don't forget friction modifyer what ever you use.

I run Mobil 1 75W140 with no additional modifier. Never had any clutch chatter.

Cool I have second 3650 trans. got cheep. And thats type Redline I have bought? So my mechanic can goahead an put it back together for me.
Sure need to get that swapped out with trans. i'm driving"limping" around with now.

Can a 98 gt use 75w/140 mobil 1 syn gear oil ? i know 98 ford recomment 80w90, but it change to 75w140 after 2000, I just wonder if i can use that ? thanks
