so i went to get my car out this spring and i fired it up when it got hot it started leaking coolant out from under the thermostat housing it is a 96 gt with a 4.6 in it i was wondering if anyone has had this problem i replaced the gasket and the housing and is still leaking somewhere

Yes, thousands of people have had this problem. The water crossover on the NPI/early PI intake manifolds tends to crack and leak water after a while. Only solution is to replace the manifold. The newer manifolds have an aluminum water crossover instead of a plastic one like what's on your car (assuming it is the stocker). Might as well go ahead and swap in a PI intake manifold, as it's worth quite a few horsepower, and was actually cheaper for me. Search PI Intake Swap and you should find all the info you need.

You can try using this as a search starting point. :nice: good luck

It has undoubtedly been edited for various reasons but there may some valid points in it.

I don't think our cars are covered anymore. The problem was a long time ago and if not fixed by now, I doubt Ford will do the fix at this point. I just sent someone a manifold with the aluminum crossover for free. I even paid for shipping. The recipient didn't act too grateful. But, oh well.
