supercharger

I have a 2003 mustang gt with an auto trans and i heard i could have a supercharger with auto trans but ive also heard i cant.
I need someone to clear up this debate for me and tell me what my choices are as in brands,

by the way idk much about cars and im 16 so try to talk simple when explaining things

Yes Sir you can.. I'm not familiar with any special brands but I have a 99 gt and Ive been looking at one on jegs for close to 4000$

Thats ridiculous. Transmission type is irrelevant when it comes to forced induction.

BTW, Im not sure if you're aware of this or not.....but superchargers/turbocharges are probably the most expensive modification available. Expect to spend no less than $3000.

Best advice is, I remember when I was 16 and got my first fiveoh. Be safe and, be smart! Yes you can supercharge an auto. Go with vortec if you like some nice top end gains or, go with keene bell if you like instant torque. Don't forget supporting auto mods such as j-mod and stall.

Superchargers are expensive compared to cams, exhaust, etc...but there is no better bang for the buck than a s/c. Every bolt on available will not get you the power you can get with a blower and you'll end up spending close to the same amount on parts and labor if not more. The type of trans does not matter. A manual trans will probably hold up longer tho...

If you put a blower on a stock long-block you're going to be power-limited by the rods and pistons such that the power level won't grossly exceed what a transmission in decent shape can take. There are other factors though. The OP's car is now 7 years old and has only-he-knows how many miles. Has the trans ever been overheated? What's it's internal condition now? At least with a manual the clutch is external and (relatively) easily replaced.

As for brands, Kenne Bell, Tork Tech, Paxton, Vortech etc.

Depending on how deep your pockets are you might even look into Hellion for a turbocharger kit...
