o/r X pipe questions?

Just make sure it isn't dented anywhere and doesn't have substantive rust. Make sure you have a new exhaust gasket from Ford for the passenger side manifold to midpipe joint. Oh and you'll be fine with out MIL's for a couple weeks if you don't mind your engine light being on :nice:

i ordered a pypes o/r x pipe ( made by upr ) and we had a heck of a time getting it to seal. the shouldered studs on the drivers side manifold were a pain. from what pypes tells me, depending on the year of your car some have this issue and some dont. you may not have any issues at all.

+1 on the new gasket for the pass side.

my check engine light has never tripped with this pipe yet. been on almost a year now :shrug:

I wonder if your bulb is burnt out. An o/r midpipe should cause the check engine light to go on, shouldn't it :shrug: Do you have MIL's? Has your car been tuned?

If you have an auto, make sure the x-pipe is for an auto and not a manual. Summit accidentally sent me an x-pipe for a manual and the rear O2's can't be installed because the bungs are too close to my transmission. Don't know if UPR has different Xs for manual or auto but watch out for that...

:lol: you said bung

As stated above, make sure you get a new gasket for the passenger side header to mid pipe. I got one from Napa, and it was some cheap Chinese ****. Luckily I was able to reuse the stock one.

You can go without the MIL eliminators for a while. I've heard that your car will run a little different, but I don't know for sure cause I installed them with the pipe.

Another thing to check are the threads on the studs. I would also consider getting new nuts depending on how they look.

:jaw::track: Thats crazy

Dang I wonder if it would do the same for me.. Thats one of the reasons why Im holding me back on getting an o/r x... I want to be able to pass emissions and not have the check engine light on the whole time.....

i think i have just gotten really lucky. i wouldnt expect the same results.

even tho my check engine light isnt on, the car still might not pass emissions. we dont have emissions in the county i live in.
