PD Blower Cams

Does any one have any input on a good set of cams to use with a Kenne Bell?

I have heard that pd blower cams dont really have much of a lope to them at idle... is that true? I love the sound of the Hi-Tech stage 2 n/a cams, but I dont have a very good understanding of how the motor would react to an n/a cam with a kenne bell. Is there a blower cam that lopes at idle?

Sound isnt everything, if I am going to drop the cash on cams, I want them to perform... however, i am willing to lose a couple horsepower for the sound as long as it isnt a significant decrease.

Note: I made 390 RWHP and I understand that the stock bottom end is good until around 430 to 450 RWHP and I shouldnt push the RPM past 6000. What kind of gains am I looking at with a cam swap? Do I have to worry about fuel at all, the kenne bell kit came with a BAP and 36 lb injectors... is that going to be sufficient?

I wouldn't get a lopey cam with a PD blower they just don't work well together. Go for a stage 1 PI blower cam from MHS and you won't be disappointed. If you're willing to upgrade the heads and the springs, you could go for a MHS stage 2 cam as well. The stage 1 blower cam will maximize drive-ability and provide a noticeable increase in power across the RPM band.

Buying a cam simply for sound is dumb IMO. I mean you already have a KB, something most on this site would give a nut for. I'd look into getting a different exhaust set up if you aren't feeling the way your car sounds now.

If you do install new cams, you should get the car tuned on a dyno to ensure it's running properly. Hope this helps.

I agree, cams for sound alone is dumb. I have toyed with the idea of getting a magnaflow magnapack cat back as opposed to the flowmasters, but i dont want to spend the money on it unless its going to make a dif in rwhp.

I will check out the MHS stage 1's but I will probably put off the cams until I rebuild my motor with forged internals and trickflow heads. Which is not anything I will be doing anytime soon. I was hoping there was a cam that would work with my current setup, that i could still utilize when I build the motor. I already know that when it happens I want to bump the psi and run it a little further in the RPM band, so I should probably put it off so I dont end up buying cams twice. Thanks.
