ok got my 2nd car 88 mustang (know next to nothing about cars but im good with my hands :/ ) first question is the guy who sold it to me
said it was lx , says mustang gt on the bumper engine is 2.3 found
a turbo v8 plastic peice in the car i think he was gonna try and play it off?
anyway the brakes needed to be bleeded when i was doing the first one
the bleeder screw broke of inside so i got a new cylinder and changed it only to find out the other back one was leaking so i changed both but it still stops real slow i couldnt open the front tires cuz the screw was rounding off so any idea's on how to get it open or should i just take it to a machanic and put in new screws when hes done?? (any idea on price?)
my gas gauge stays on empty the speed gauge jumpes up and down at low speeds my heat and oil pressure gauges also dont work : / my seat worked when i got it but was i was moving it back it made a popping noise and stopped working, ac doesnt work i went to the fuse box and that fuse was melted (always a good sign) i can change it no prob but id imagine it prob got a deeper problem.
but besides all those million problems i took it running and the engine runs great it supposed to be a new engine (dont know if i trust that) according to the guy and the car has 300,000 miles on it(fun)
its gonna be a peice of work but i dont mind just need some tips on how to get some of the broken things working again

thanks in advance :D

Going to help you as much as I can. Sounds like a lot of work, but here we go... (my answer in bold)

Ford did not produce a 2.3L GT in 1988, so your car likely has the GT body kit added to it. Your car is a Mustang LX.

found a turbo v8 plastic peice in the car i think he was gonna try and play it off?

Some 2.3L Mustangs prior to 1987 had a 2.3L turbo option, known as the Mustang SVO. I have no idea what this plastic piece is, but figure that maybe he was planning a Turbo 2.3L swap. If it is a V8 piece, I have no idea what it would be doing in your car.

anyway the brakes needed to be bleeded when i was doing the first one

I am assuming that you are knowledgeable about proper brake bleeding. You should always start bleeding at the Passenger rear tire, then the Driver rear, Passenger front, then driver front. It is nice to have a helper while you bleed the brakes. Do not let the Master Cylinder run dry, continue to add fluid and bleed until the fluid looks clean and there are no air bubbles. Fox Mustangs are notorious for poor braking, and with the age of the car your front brake calipers could be toasted.

The rear brakes should have a new hardware kit installed when you replace them. You could also have leaking wheel cylinders in the rear, make sure that they are not leaking.

i couldnt open the front tires cuz the screw was rounding off so any idea's on how to get it open or should i just take it to a machanic and put in new screws when hes done?? (any idea on price?)

I am not sure what we are talking about, but I am assuming that you could not get the lug nuts off of the wheel? A mechanic/tire shop could cut off the lugs if they are stripped, I wouldn't count out also needing new studs if they are in poor shape. They will probably charge between 30-100 dollars depending on how many are stuck, whether studs are needed, and how bad they are.

my gas gauge stays on empty the speed gauge jumpes up and down at low speeds my heat and oil pressure gauges also dont work : /

It is possible that you need a new gauge cluster with all these problems, but it could also be a combination of a broken fuel sending unit, faulty oil sending unit, and faulty coolant temp sensor. Check these before you assume it is the cluster. The speedo could also be part of a bad cluster, or it could simply be a worn speedometer cable. You can remove and lubricate the cable, but if it looks frayed or like it has "hot spots" on it, I would suggest replacing it.

my seat worked when i got it but was i was moving it back it made a popping noise and stopped working,

The seat has a cable wire that runs between the two tracks. When you pull the lever, the lever has a direct connection to the left side seat track. The wire pulls the release on the right side track. If the wire has broken or come loose, then the right side track will not release, and the seat will not move. There are four bolts that mount the seat to the floor, I would suggest removing the seat and checking that everything looks okay. I will wager that the wire has broken or come loose, so you may need to replace it.

ac doesnt work i went to the fuse box and that fuse was melted (always a good sign) i can change it no prob but id imagine it prob got a deeper problem.

Most likely the A/C Compressor is toast. Put a fuse in and see what happens. If it pops, you need to track down the short. I would think that it is inside the compressor, but not always.

but besides all those million problems i took it running and the engine runs great it supposed to be a new engine (dont know if i trust that) according to the guy and the car has 300,000 miles on it(fun)

Good luck, post up if you have any questions. Pics are nice too :)
