So does anybody know what a bad throw out bearing sounds like? I've got an annoying sound coming from up front while driving and it goes away when the clutch is in.
With my experience, a bad TO bearing will make a nasty sound when the clutch is depressed. I've never heard a problem when the clutch was disengaged, possibly a bad pilot bearing, or input shaft bearing?
The pilot bearing is always 'engaged'.
When it goes out, first you get vibration (Said vibration CAN take out the tranny's input bearing!), and then you get jumping out of gear.
