I have a 65 mustang 289. I’m installing a 1 wire 100amp alternator int/reg to replace the factory Alternator.
What should I do with the wiring harness? I hooked both leads to The starter solenoid and taped the other 4 wires up.
( wires that went to the old alternator) all these wires came from the voltage regulator harness.
any help appreciated. Thank you!

if I disregard the voltage regulator like some say, then I lose my headlights, and possibly my voltage gage in the car.
Now because I’ve hooked it up wrong all I can do is get it to click when I try to start it And everything Goes dead. I have to pull the battery cable off then back on and it resets. My battery is full charge. Anyone know how to remedy this?

This is what I followed when converting my '69 to a 1 wire alternator.

Picked up a 100amp fuse/holder from an audio parts store for cheap and mounted it to the firewall near the alternator.
Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately my 1 wire alternator only has hot, ground, and 2 terminals.i think I’ve fried my starter solenoid also :( Im afraid I’ve screwed the pooch going with the 1 wire conversion attempt.
