RPM GAUGE SHOW DOUBLE RPM

my fox's rpm gauge shows twice as much as my autometer, when my autometer rpm shows 1000 rpm, the instrument panel shows 2000 and consecutively

Does the autometer tach have a 4-6-8 cyl switch?

I don't really know if it has any swich, it's a
autometer cobalt https://www.autometer.com/5-tach-10-000-rpm-shift-lite-cobalt.html with shift light, I know that what the autometer shows is correct, because I already Check the rpm with a Timing light

my fox is 1980 with full swap of 5.0 h o 1993, I don't know if in its past it was automatic, recently installed T5

He shows rpm, but shows triple the actual measurement

You'll need to find a 90-93 V8 tach (7K redline) and swap it in.

Anything's possible, but the odds of someone having done this and having the info handy are slim. You'd likely be paving the way.

Easier to swap the tach, but you'll have to get your hands on one

Is this a 80 model body with the 93 dash swapped ?
If you need a 87-93 V8 tach I may be able to help.

Some of the early model factory tachs had a switch on them to change for v8. Might need to pull it and check.

yes, it's a 1980 fox, with a 5.0 h.o swap engine and 1993 panel instrument
