Format(?) Change

No, your Kindle is working as it should (I hope.... ;)), it's different on my laptop this morning. It looks to be more in line with a lot of other forums I've seen.

Just can't leave well enough alone
Always updating, tweeking, poking, proding, user friendlier, modernizing then some more updating, just a little tweek here or there and BANG!
It's just like the others
i kinda like it.

I don't mind it, but I did like the individual section graphics that were there before. It kinda set us apart from the others.

I primarily visit the site using my phone. I noticed that for the last few days every time I get a notification that there is an update to a thread I follow I get two notifications for the one post. Also, when I select a notification it opens in a new browser window. It's not that big of a deal, but a kink that will probably get worked out. I hope.

Looks like some of you guys were on the OLD template. This template you are on now has been active for about 6 months. I had to remove the old because it becomes OLD code and can be exploited by hackers.

In order to keep the site fast, mobile friendly, search engine friendly, attract users from search landing, etc... I have to keep it updated.

I actually visited some of the older known Mustang sites yesterday and they are pretty much ruined by the corporate owners. StangNet is the only Mustang site not owned by a corporation and bean counters, just me. ;)

This is how we help get more users for our site.

I have been working hard the last month tweaking here and there trying to improve. See chart.

NOW... I would like input on this new HOT FEED section. It can be tweaked with math to move threads up and ALSO can manually move threads up of interest.. see what you think of the feed. Mobile should be easier to use as well.

I went back and edite image and uploaded same file again and it worked. It may be a CDN issue.

We are currently transferring the 100GB of images we have to a new provider, Cloudflare R2. That might help. This puts all the images on the Edge and also allows to serve in cache and the correct size depending on the device.

Those guys with tablets, phones and kindles etc are gonna like it much more.

I like the site! I was just giving feedback. Ive been through a hand full of updates at this point. Most issues get worked out over time, but if something odd is happening and no one says anything you might not know they are happening. Carry on with the good work!

Thanks for the kudos. I tried to get the images back inside the Forum listings, I liked it too, just have not solved that riddle yet. If you saw the buttons and options in the backend your head would explode. Ive had to put @Noobz347 back together many times.

I can safely say that it took over a year just to learn enough about permissions to make a plan. Yes... I've beaten my head on the table many times. LoL

I explored the lightning bolt thing and I like the moderator button where I get notifications that now stays in the header, before I had to scroll back to the top to see it :nice:
I still don't know what all I'm permitted to do so I'll just continue to annoy the janitor :D
Things seem to be faster now or maybe I'm just catch'n up. :jester:

:ot:

One of the features we used to have that I miss:

We used to be able to re-assign ownership of a thread. It was only useful for one thing and that was taking a post from an existing thread and using it to create a new thread. It was useful when a noob posted their question in the wrong place. By plucking that post out and creating a new thread, I could re-assign ownership from [me] to the OP so that they get alerts for responses.
