Wife has been asking me what I want for Christmas. I was thinking maybe some tools. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have the basics:

- ratcheting wrenches metric and standard
- impact gun
- torque wrenches
- disk grinder
- drills (regular and hammer) and bits (and a wheel to sharpen them
- sockets both normal and impact (3/8”) and a 1/4” set as well
- tool cart for storage
- crows feet socket set
- laser level
- various pulley pullers
- multiple jacks / stands and ramps
- smoke machine
- Allen and torx bit sets
- DVM

What other tools do you all use regularly to work on your mustangs ( or other vehicles)?

I snagged this for myself as a travel kit/ grab set when they had it for 55 bucks shipped.. That and an Milwaukee bag with a decent ratchet, wrench set bit/ screw driver and m12 fuel impact plus m12 ratchet will cover most everything I would need it to. Decent quality, pretty damn heavy though.

And if you don't have a timing light... All ways come in handy. Adv back lights are getting stupid in price for what they are though so used might be better.

That's my next kit.

Forgot to mention I have that exact scanner and I also have a timing light.

I have a socket set similar to the one @Noobz347 linked. I think it’s GearWrench brand. I also have multiple dewalt smaller socket sets with wrench I keep in my cars.

Its decent for a grab kit if your not near your tool box.... You can get the swivel impacts in 15pc metric sets from a few brands, Casoman sells the same ones in that kit, seketman has a little bit better set, around $30 each set if you shop around. All these goofy named main land China tools just ripping off sunex and others since many switched from Taiwan to mainland manufacturing. Haven't had any problems with any I grabbed. Even got some cheap knock off $30 extra long dbl box ends and flex heads. Just beater tools, most I'm loading up in a HF tool cart, to keep in one of my back sheds, I'm using as a work shop.

Infra-red heat gun. They're great for checking the temperature of... anything! Brake temperatures, intake and exhaust parts, I also used it to check the tire temperatures across the tread, to verify inflation pressure. ;)

How about an inspection camera.

It is one of those tools that you don’t really need [until you do].
Helps to find lost nuts and bolts that fell into the abyss, look behind the dash and behind panels when needed, and for home use to see behind sheet rock, inside pipes, etc.

Random tool that comes in handy on occasion.

If your into detailing work, Harbor Freight throws this polisher on sale for 35 bucks all the time. It’s great for beginners being Dual Action and the price can’t be beat.

All great ideas. I seem to keep forgetting what i have becuase i do have a boroscope camera (cheapy one, but it works) and i do have a rotary polisher, although i'm not very good at using it. I end up just hand applying whatever compound i'm using and haven't gotten too deep into like 'cut and buffing' type work. My paint kinda sucks anyways so i'm not too worried about it. As long as it looks shiny from 20ft i'm good until i get the car painted.

Compression tester, fuel pressure tester, and coolant pressure tester. All great to diagnose problems.
Sorry I can't post those fancy Amazon ads from my :poo:ty tablet.

I picked up the half inch kit first because both of my UggaDugga guns (small and large) take half inch without adaptors.

They stay together mostly and now I don't have to break up sets or route around in the big box.

My DeWalt impact is only 3/8", but so far its gotten done everything i've asked of it. I probably should pick up a set of half inch sockets though. My dad gave me some tools probably 20 years ago and i have a piece-meal set just thrown in a small toolbox.
