    Jumpy speedo needle? Help!

Thanks TMoss. I haven't seen you for awhile...not since I bailed out on my surge demon vert. I do remember from before about one gear having the tendency to get chewed up. I searched today and found a RED gear in my parts bin, so that means there is a WHITE on installed on the car. Can...

    Stupid new/old member's question of the week..."TEF"???

I was thinking it could be whoever built the engine too. Hard to tell without knowing the history of the car. I know it was wrecked at least once...too many different colors on the parts where the paint has chipped. It is definitely not the original engine. The covers look like stock Ford...

    Jumpy speedo needle? Help!

OK guys, maybe a bit more help? I checked and we DID install a new cable and VSS sensor in Aug 05. We got the parts from LRS. My son say's that the needle jumped like that the whole time he drove the car these past 2 years. Is there anything else that might be causing this? Something...

Help me create the "Surging Idle Checklist"

I can't help it, I have to say...this thread gives me such COLD CHILLS it hurts to the bone!!! If these new guys only knew.....:bang: This is a great thread JR! All I can say...from VAST experience....is do not be tempted to throw money into new parts to fix the problem. It's a sucker...

    Stupid new/old member's question of the week..."TEF"???

We don't have any real history on this 92 hatch I just inherited from my son, so most of it is guess work. I do know that the engine is not the one that came with the car, nor are many of the body panels either. I have no idea how many different car's were used to piece this thing together...

    Jumpy speedo needle? Help!

OK, thanks for listing all that helpful info. I could swear we replaced it when we were doing the new clutch cable install, but maybe not. I did replace one on my 93 S. Demon vert, so I know about fishing that cable through. Another project lined up..... Ken

Lets see pics of your grant wheel install on 91+ Fox

I see what you mean about the large cover being hard to hide. I do think the picture of the Grant wheel looks pretty good though. It's large center does a good job flowing the wheel into the cover. Nothing is ever simple..... Ken

    Jumpy speedo needle? Help!

I am spending a lot of time combing over this 92 junk car, determined to bring some more life to it. Stock T5 with 3.73 rear gears, new speedo cable and gear. The speedo needle bounces around with large bounces at speeds below 20mph or so. What is the likely culprit causing this? The...

Anyone ever had luck with quarter window molding covers.

I have added this to my gigantic growing list of things to bring this poor car back to life. The existing trim is bad enough, but it's what's under the trim that worries me. The kid that had this thing obviously used a can of spray paint to paint the car, or used the $50 Maco special. The...

Lets see pics of your grant wheel install on 91+ Fox

Yes, if any of you have pictures of Grant type steering wheels please post them. Also any issues with fitment. My 92 I inherited from my son came without an airbag..just an empty shell, and no sensors left in the engine bay anyway, so I'm looking at alternatives. Thanks, Ken

    I can't believe I am back.....

That signature represents a TON of MONEY and countless hours that I practically gave away in a fit of stupidity. I'm probably still paying off some of those parts over 5 years later. Ken

Anyone ever had luck with quarter window molding covers.

Well OK then...looks like I have a (another ) project lined up to do when I get some free time. Thanks for posting the pictures...they do look great. I'm sure I can do the work myself...I have tackled worse items and did a good job. You should see the 92 Baja boat I refinished...took about...

    I can't believe I am back.....

Ryan, Thanks for the compliment. The vert was nice...I had worked it over pretty well. I had a couple of things going on that caused me to sell it. I won't mention the price because I will look more of the fool that I already feel I was/am. I will say that a guy got the deal of the century...

Anyone ever had luck with quarter window molding covers.

You say if it isn't too corroded and pitted. Mine are fairly pitted, small chunks missing. In this case would I just be better off trying the covers? I'm thinking trying to fill the chunks and scratches would probably not hold up. I am just now starting to come up with a game plan to at...

    I can't believe I am back.....

Yep, that was my son. When we first got the GT it was a REAL Mess. Now it's just a mess?! The tailpipes where tucked up against the rear tires where the tires actually rubbed through the pipes! The radiator overflow was the bottom of a milk just held in the fender with a coat hanger. The...

    I can't believe I am back.....

Yeah, I figured a few of you would remember my surge demon saga. I sure wish I had kept all those parts, but unfortunately they went with the car to it's new owner. I could kick myself to eternity for outsting that car. My kids cried for months. They had visions of taking it over one day. I...

    I can't believe I am back.....

Yeah, I'm still in shock about being back in a Mustang. I figured it might happen eventually, but not in one that only a broke 14 yr old could afford:rolleyes: Funny part about it is that it runs as strong, if not stronger than the awsome 93 I had. Yes, the one with the gazillion amount of...

    I can't believe I am back.....

Hello to all the old folks around here. I never thought I would be back after unloading my "surge demon" 93vert 5 years ago. This site sure has changed a lot! Circumstances have sent me back into the seat of a 92 hatch. We bought this hatch for our son almost 2 years ago. It is the...

    Yet another exhaust question, YEAH!

I'll post if I can figure out how to record audio files by then! Heck, my daughter will show me! Luckily, the pace-setter adapter pipe even comes with the required exhaust hangers for the upgrade! We are set to go! Ken
