    Weird Electrical Gremlins

1988 Mustang 5.0 5 speed Ok, it all started with the four lights on the bottom right of the instrument cluster (low fuel, check oil, coolant and brake fluid) starting to flash on and off all at the same time. This is intermittent but usually happens 3-4 times during a 15 mile drive. The...

Alternator quits charging after ~2400 RPM

Heres the scoop: As I was merging on to the freeway, I mashed the throttle. The car accelerated for about a half a second, then the engine hesitated for about a second, then started accelerating again. After that, the battery light was on and the voltmeter was dropping. So I thought that...

    Melted Mark VIII fan

A few days ago, the mark viii fan in my 5.0 quit working. I found that the ground terminal on the connector and on the fan motor itself had melted. I use a DCC controller, the wiring and splices are all fine. Since I assume this is not a common problem, I'm guessing that the fan windings...

    Water pump question

Tomorrow, I plan on slapping on a new Edelbrock water pump on the 5.0. Since I don't use my heater, would there be any problems in just installing some plugs in the 2 heater inlet/outlet holes on the pump housing?

    High mileage 351w usable?

My buddy has a 78 F150 with a 351w and he is planning on intalling a new long block. My question is, would a 270,000 mile motor (specifically the block) be worth using as long as it hasn't already been bored and doesn't have any cracks? If so, I plan to buy it off him and put it in my 88 GT...
