The Skunk with Turbines & Side Pipes

:D Still running the dual quads and the tunnel ram but now sitting on a '91 Mustang 5.0 block with ported GT-40 heads. New additions to the appearance package: Corvette side pipes and a set of 15" Turbines. The plumbing on the side pipes took a couple of pitchers of beer and a few bar...

    Need C4 Dipstick

Is there a difference between the MII dipsticks and the earlier Mustang dipsticks? If so, does anybody know where I can buy a '78 C4 transmission dipstick? Local parts houses only seem to carry '64-73 OEM for the C4.

    Howdy, Y'all

Hey, I'm back. The Skunk has pretty much been sitting under tarps for the better part of the last two years. But we just bought a house in Gig Harbor and I have my own garage, with a shop. This is a huge thing, BTW, for a II owner who has always lived in a condo and has had to depend on the...

    Woo-HOO!!! 1990 5.0 Longblock!!

Christmas ROCKS. My father-in-law bought a 1990 Mustang 5.0 H.O. longblock with the fuel injection setup for pennies; he only wanted the FI off it and doesn't need the engine so, "Merry Christmas, Joey!" Gonna port the heads, throw some 1.7's and a monster cam in that puppy, & bolt on the Tower...

    GT40 vs. GT40P for Mustang II 302

I just want to make ABSOLUTELY SURE I'm right on this before I shell out the dough. The GT-40 head will bolt up to the Hedman Hedders for a MII. Correct? It is the GT40P head that will not. I have used the search function; I am posting this so there will be a definitive GT40 thread for...

    New Toys

For my birthday I got an exhaust flamethrower kit.:nice: I know what I'M doing this winter. The ricers around here will have no freaking idea what hit them come next spring. :D

    ON 302 vs. 5.0L H.O. DISTRIBUTORS

Some notes on my most recent "Voyage of Discovery." Long, but if you've done an H.O. swap into an earlier Ford, you may want to read this. '86 5.0L H.O. with a 1978 302 timing cover -- the serpentine belts wouldn't fit in my engine bay. When I assembled the engine the 5.0 timing mark didn't...

II Oil Pan on an H.O. Block -- Dipstick Location?

Okay, I can't be the only guy running an H.O. I'm starting to build up a mondo '88 H.O. to replace my '86 H.O., and in this build I want to use the serpentine assembly. (I can get the clearance if I use a custom radiator and an electric fan.) But I'm still flummoxed on the dipstick location; the...

    Musclecar Explosion

Has anyone else noticed the number of muscle cars lately? On my hill in downtown Seattle, I have seen, in the past two weeks: - a blue 1970 351 Mach 1 - a gorgeous powder-blue Oldsmobile 442 (with a kid driving it who's got to be in high school, still) - a silver Dodge Dart 440 - a red '67...

    Beat Cops on Broadway

I had The Skunk out for a roll yesterday afternoon, parked it on Broadway right outside Julia's (in the yellow zone, which no one ever figures out is FREE on Sundays) and my wife and I got a nice seat on the sidewalk cafe right next to it, put back a few drinks, and watched people walk by and...

    Seattle / Tacoma Dyno Day?

I wanna dyno my ride. Anyone else? Looking for someplace that gives a group discount. I'm thinking maybe the 18th. Anyone? - J.

4X108mm 14" Centerline Wheels for MII

I'm selling or trading my Centerline directionals. 14", 4X108mm, backspaced for the MII. I'm looking for: - black (or black and grey) Fox or Escort seats or - "universal" racing seats or - 5.0 serpentine assembly or - 5.0 fuel injection, complete or - A set of Drag Radials that would fit on a...

    Workable Wiring

Another half-baked hatchet job idea -- bear with me. Again. I believe that my big project this spring will be a rewire. I've read some of the rewire threads but it seems like the majority are either trying to redo the OEM wiring or trying to make it more complicated than it has to be. Or does...

OT -- Tulalip Casino Saturday 1/28

Hey, all. Just a heads-up to northenders, my band is doing a show at the big room at the Tulalip this Saturday from 5-8 PM. It's a jump/swing retrospective of the birth of rock and roll from its roots in jump blues and swing (if you think Elvis invented rock and roll, you don't know Diddley :D...

    Seattle Ricer Watch

I may regret asking this, but where do the Seattle ricers congregate? I'm not looking to street race, but once the weather improves I'd love to roll through their little hangouts "accidentally" and, you know, stir things up a bit. :stick: I live downtown, BTW. When I say Seattle I mean...

    Fender Flaring?

What if, rather than tubbing, you flared the fenders instead? Something along the lines of the Porsche Carrera 4. This idea came up over a pitcher of beer the other night, while figuring out how to fit the biggest possible tires on the rear of the II. Here's the thought: cut out the curve...

    Eleanor?

I think it was on this forum, there was someone a few years back who had built an "Eleanor" - style Cobra II, with the Shelby window scoops. It was a work in progress, if memory serves, but it looked sweeeeeeet. Anybody remember this? Anyone remember who (s)he is and where we could get an...

    SCORE!!!!!!!

Found a want ads listing for Mustang II parts. Called the guy, he said, "Come on out and take a look. I'm just gonna throw this stuff out." I went out there this evening. For $100 -- all I had on me -- I got: - a set of quarter glass -- one of each side, including seals - REAR HATCH LOUVERS...
