    tie rod ends

There was a thread talking about tire widths that can be put on 65-66 cars. Seems to me I remember someone saying the 65-66 steering components aren't as beefy as the 67 and on up parts. My question is, since I need to put new tie rod ends and ball joints on my 65, can I use any 67 parts...

Sounds like the overflow resivoir is the best solution here. Doesn't sound like he is overheating at all.

    Cooling Help, overflows

I would think a gurgling sound in the radiator after shutting the car off would be boiling coolant.

where can I get a 67 fastback vin checked?

email or write to FORD they keep records back to 67 on all cars they produced. I think they are pretty quick to respond too.

    Cooling Help, overflows

Fill with mostly antifreeze and less water mix. That will raise the boiling point of the coolant.

    Can i save this paint?

We used to park a car under a tree (not sure which kind) but I think its sap or something would come down and land on the paint and make it look like that - there again I don't think there is much a person can do but sand and repaint. P.S. - love the car - the Torque Thrusts make it look...

    violent shake when taking off

Yeah, it usually isn't an issue. I can let the clutch out slow most of the time and not have any problem. Just seems to be when I am turning and letting it out slow.

302 runs like POOP. Help! (long, rambling newbie)

My car ran pretty crappy when I first got it and I found a vaccuum leak - prev owner put the wrong gaskets on the carb spacer. Easy check for this is to spray carb cleaner around the intake manifold and carb base and see if rpm's change. I know I sound like kind of a broken record on the vac...

    Installed Aluminum Radiator

your idle prob could be a vac leak - spray some carb ceaner around the base of your carb and see if the rpms change. Did you replace your thermostat like latamud said?

    violent shake when taking off

yep, I have new mounts too and a torque strap so I'd bet it is the clutch too. I'm not so ambitious as to drop the tranny though. Think I'll just keep driving it for a dang long time before I end up having clutch work done. Thanks guys! P

    violent shake when taking off

I have a 1965 fastback with 289 4v 4speed manual with manual steer. Every once in a while when I turn left (at least that's when I have noticed it recently), when I take off real slow and don't rev the engine up enough my car goes into a violent shake until I push the clutch in again and rev a...

    Rear spring mounting ????

gotcha, yeah that's not good, eh? I never measured, but I think mine just kinda lined up on its own. I had heard that cars have an adjustment for the rear wheels alignment, but I gotta think these dont.

    Rear spring mounting ????

Hmmmm... What looked crooked? The stance from the rear? Like one side of the bumper was higher than the other? When I did my leafs and shocks I did them one side at a time. Didn't seem to have any crookedness. Did you use new springs and new shocks?
