There was a thread talking about tire widths that can be put on 65-66 cars. Seems to me I remember someone saying the 65-66 steering components aren't as beefy as the 67 and on up parts.

My question is, since I need to put new tie rod ends and ball joints on my 65, can I use any 67 parts (specifically tie rod ends) instead of 65 parts and if I did, would they make the car any stronger?

I believe that the only thing beefier on the 67 outer tie rod is the tapered mounting stud. This stud will not fit the 66 steering arm's tie rod mounting hole. So the short answer is no, and not much.

For your car the best thing you can do is buy Moog (american) suspension parts. These are the best offered. They are thicker and have much, much better metalurgy (strength) than the Tiwanese knock off crap thats readily available. Of couse they cost more but its your life!

I'm using Cobra Automotive pieces as a bump steer kit. These are used on many of the vintage racecars, so I assume they're sufficient strength-wise. I've been very pleased with the quality (appearance) of Cobra Automotive's suspension parts; however I have yet to drive the car since its still under restoration.

Curious what you paid for Cobra Automotive's bump steer kit?
They don't list prices on their website.

If I remember correctly they were around $200, maybe a little over.
