    I smell Anti-Freeze

Instead of repairing the heater core, I would remove the two heater hoses and pour some alumaseal into the tubes. It should patch the hole - it did on mine. Scott

    A/C Evaporator Question

First of all. Can you send me a copy of your ford service manual? I can't seem to find one anywhere! But back on topic, I think because of the time involved in replacing the evaporator or heater core, the factory just replaces them all while you are there, because the part is so cheap, you...

DSS...The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly?

To be honest, I think you need to e-mail the quote you got from CHP to nick at dss, and ask him what is the difference between the 2 quotes that necessitates the extra money. I am sure either A) The DSS quote has a better engine, or B) CHP is not including some of the charges. But if Nick...

    Trick Flow Oil Filler Kit....

I have plenty of room on my passenger side valve cover, kinda pointing towards the drivers side fender. I wish I put mine there. Mine is very close to the factory location and I hate. It's such a pain in the ass. Scott

    Timing question

yeah, 10* before top dead center. Maybe he set it at 10* after top dead center. On the factory balancer, there is 30 llllll 20 lllllll 10 llllllll 0 lllllllll 10. If you set it to the last 10, that is 10*atdc. You want it on the bold 10 Scott

Electrical gurus, I need wiring help on my AirRide system...

There are many ways to do this. The most simple way is to use the fuse panel as your ignition source and constant source. They make what's called "fuse taps" which slip over the fuse blade to make it's connection. Another is to simply follow the wires coming out of the fuse panel and with a...

DSS...The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly?

DSS built my short block in the exact time spec I was told over the phone. Nick was awesome to deal with. He explained anything and everything I needed to do to get my new block going. And because of that, I would definitely buy another from him without a doubt. If you ever need to get a hold...

A/C isnt working, can if be refilled?

I would start by hooking up a vacuum pump to the system and see if holds a vacuum. If it does, bypass the LPS, then add r-134a to the low pressure side (drivers side) until the low side pressure is ~35psi, and enjoy the cool air! My a/c leaks from both high/low side ports, so I have to plug...

    water in oil

Pressure test the coolant system to 15psi and see if there is a leak. Then good luck locating it. lower intake manifold is more likely the source rather than the heads IMO. Also, your timing cover could be the culprit. Mine was so pitted it actually had holes in it. When I pressurized the...

woo hoo.....now im having electrical problems...i love my car.

I would see if the ignition switch is getting power, and once the key is turned, does the ignition switch pass power through. Another way to test the switch is see if the ignition fuse has power (on both sides) when you turn the key on. If it doesn't, try running a quick jumper wire to the...

    Question on roller cam installation

A must. No. A waste of time if you don't, probably. I would imagine your valve float is minimal with the stock cam, but with the E303 you will start to see it, and depreciate your springs in the process. JMO, wait and see what others have to say. Scott

    Main Front Crank Seal

And to do a cam, you have to yank the lower intake and remove the rods/lifters so they don't fall in the engine. So the seal is 10x easier to do. Scott

    In theory this would work....

Clutch starting will work no matter how dead the battery is. But a battery that is completely dead takes at least 24 hours to fully charge, which means it needs a lot of time just to get back above 10 volts. The alternator spins at probably 10k rpm's , and I doubt your drill spins that...

Battery cut off switch, Alternator wire?

Just make sure every wire that is hooked up to the pos terminal on the battery is hooked to switched side of the disconnect switch. That way, when the disconnect is on, those wires get power, and don't when the disconnect switch is off. The alternator cable hooks directly to the battery post...

    Miss at idle. Any ideas?

Try running the CBT manually, yanking each plug wire until you find one that doesn't affect the idle as much as the others. Much easier. Scott
