    nah, those bolts just go through the valve body and the metal plate on the top side of the valve body. im thinking about pulling the valve body out and checking everything out to make sure its still intact. that would make my life so much easier

    well maybe the hole thing is incorrect..sorry for the confusion. but definetly soak them in oil for atleast 30 minutes before installing them. paul, youre probably good to go. i wouldnt worry too much about them man

    well look what i found in my tranny!

    well, i took it for a drive this morning 1st and 2nd gear work fine...but 3rd is gone. put it in third gear and the motor just revs. fan-****ing-tastic!

    are you soaking the lifters in oil prior to installing them? and are you making sure the hole on the side of the lifters is facing up(toward the center of the block)

    so...if these bolts that i put in didnt go through the thin metal plate on the top side of the valve body than it wont work? i tapped the holes but it felt like the tap was bottoming out on something....maybe it was that thin metal plate. i might end up taking the valve body out if i cant do...

    no, you want to subtract about two inches from the number since when you measure it more than likely the tensioner will be all the way out if there is no belt on it

    i just replaced the screws that had come out. the screws i used were exactly the same length also. i think it might just be that the fluid needs to fully circulate. it did this a little bit when i first drove it after i got it put in. ill just have to wait and see tomorrow morning. the pan...

    well i got everything put back together and now i have another problem. the car shifts into every gear, but its just dead in second. it will drive in 2nd until you start getting into gas and than it feels like the tranny is locking up because the rpms will start dropping. it drives perfectly...

    need help tracking down electrical problem

    check all the grounds. battery ground, alternator ground, block ground. add another ground from the negative terminal to the block somewhere and see what happens
