new pics of rear disc brakes!

Hopefully he thought of that already and is happy with converting to discs in the rear and keeping the 4-lug set up. I plan on doing the same thing. Mine is a strong-running street car with no plans for track time (convertible) so I'd be quite content upgrading the rears to disc, possibly...

    Help!!! No Turn Signals

Check to see if your HVAC controls work. If fuses are OK, you might want to look hard at the ignition switch (inside steering column). Rather common issue (apparently).

C&L Intake vs Cold Air Intakes

I have a Pro-M 77mm MAS (with the big aluminum cast inlet tube and K&N) and would like to get a shield for mine as well. On my other '92, I had a clear plastic shield (I think it was made by FAST or something like that) that went around my 9" K&N cone. I'd like something like that for my...

    gt-40p vs gt-40

Pretty much what I have read as well. The P's are supposed to flow a bit better than the regular GT40s (and not by a whole lot) and do require different headers. If you already have GT40s on the car, don't spend the $400 on the P's. I do not believe they are THAT much of an improvement over...

    93 cobra question

I believe they came stock with a steel driveshaft. Someone that owns one I'm sure will confirm. I don't ever recall an aluminum driveshaft being listed as one of the differences between a Cobra and any other '93 5.0L.

    steering wheel shimmy...?

I would check your front control arm bushings. When these are shot, you get symptoms such as you described.

    Notch seems slow...diagnosis anyone?

I'd give it a tune up. 1) Get some fresh plugs in there (see what color the old ones are). 2) Cap and rotor (but it appears as though they would be new if you put in a new distributor). 3) Oil change. 4) Air filter 5) FUEL FILTER (that is where you issue could be). You say the...

    Turn Signal Flasher

Might want to check your ignition switch, too. Failing turn signals while the hazards still work is a tell-tale symptom. Does your HVAC fan work? If it does not, I would look real hard at the ignition switch.

    Rear Control Arm opinions

Check out the Maximum Motorsports site. I would DEFINITELY go with their lowers (andjustable or non is up to you - depending on your wants/needs). Then just upgrade the bushings in your uppers. Ideally (if I had the means), I would upgrade the bushings in the uppers (to the firmer rubber...

    plugs

He mentioned "turbo swirl" and I thought that implied the GT40 aluminum heads. The 93 Cobra's used the GT40 iron heads - not sure if they got the "turbo swirl" nomenclature as well. But, for the OP, when I researched the aluminum GT40s I got the same number for the plug that you listed. The...

    65mm vs 70mm??

I'd skip it. Might make a bigger difference if your car was forced induction, but I doubt you will feel anything at all by switching. Put the money toward porting your Cobra lower. That would yield better results (in my opinion). The rest of the motor seems set up pretty well. I'd work at...

    plugs

After a little bit of savvy internet hopping, I have determined that you want Autolite 104's. Googled "gt40 turbo swirl aluminum heads" and found, in fact, they did recommend "AGSF-32C or equivalent" plugs. Next, I went to Autolite.com. In the SEARCH area, I typed in AGSF-32C. This lead...

    Traction Issues

Check out Maximum Motorsports. The have several different lowers and recommend the factory Ford uppers with a stiffer rubber bushing. The details as to why are on the site. When it comes time to do mine, I'm going with their set up. I wish they offered the factory Ford uppers boxed. Steeda...

    Eagle F1 GS-D3 Tires - Good choice?

These are EXCELLENT tires and will be leaps and bounds better than any all-season tire you have on there now (any quality summer-only tire would) . I just put them on my BMW and am very happy with them. Phenomenal wet traction (not even a hint of hydroplaning in a couple downpours and solid rain...

    Lowering Springs on '92 Vert

I have a '92 LX 5.0L Convertible and I would like to lower it a bit. She's and absolutely gorgeous car (Deep Emerald Green with a white leather interior, white dust cover and a black top) but she sits too high. The motor is built quite nicely for what it is and the chassis is stiffened...

    5.0 Intake Install question

I don't know why anyone would say the GT40 heads aren't good for a daily driver. I'd say the opposite - they're excellent for a daily driver (used on the 93-95 Cobra's as well). Very well-balanced heads and intake kit. Very good street manners, good power bump over stock E7 heads. Sure, a...

    turn signals?

I'll second that. I just replaced my ignition switch Friday night - no turn signals, HVAC blower and the convertible top switch would not work. The old ignition switch that came out basically fell apart in my hands. Once the new one went in, everything worked.

    92 Convertible - Couple Questions

Thanks guys. Looks like I'll be replacing the ignition switch tonight. Of course I'll check the fuses - probably just pick up a box of assorted fuses while I'm getting the ignition switch. Gonna be in the 90's this weekend so getting that top working is my priority tonight :nice:

Looking for others who have the SSBrakes rear disc conversion kit...

Sounds like something else is wrong. I put that kit on my '92 LX and was very happy with it. Stopped considerably better (and more stable) than the stock set up and I had stock pads all the way around. I gutted the stock prop valve like they suggested and never installed an aftermarket one...

    car wanting to overheat

I'd go with air in the system as well....unless, of course, you installed the thermostat backwards ;) Either that or it's a bad thermostat. Gotta be something you just did since it started acting up after you changed the stat. Bad stat? Installed incorrcectly? Air in the system? Nothing...
