Window regulator: attaching channel guide bracket

I had my dad moving the window glass around yesterday while I tried to match up the bracket. I've been unable to match up all three screw holes at once, I tried just screwing one end in then cranking the regulator up and down a bit to try and line up the others but that doesn't seem to be...

    Learning to Street Rod

This sounds like a really fun class and it's going to be a great experience for everyone. I must say, though, I'd be a little nervous if I had 30-some-odd people of questionable experience wrenching on my car :D

Window regulator: attaching channel guide bracket

OK, I've been messing around with this thing for a couple hours now. A screw managed to back its way out of the channel guide bracket on my driver side window and gum up the works in the regulator. Being the idiot that I am, I managed to crank it hard enough to actually bend the channel guide...

    outta here....victim of marketing

I use Firefox with the Adblock extension. Any time I see a banner or something else I don't care to see ever again I right click on it and select "Adblock" then poof it's gone, never to return. I must admit I was confused as to what was going on with this "Related Links" poster though, just...

    Need Help with strange VIN#

Sure are a lot of 1's. Either it's an extraordinary coincidence or it's a fake plate. Edit: unless you just posted the sequential number as all 1's and I'm making an *** of myself :D

I was getting it a lot last night, but it seems to have cleared up now

    1968 289s

Thanks for the great info guys. I'm a bit confused by this statement though: I thought that the only difference between a 302 and a 289 was the crank and rods? Were the blocks cast differently, do they just have different casting numbers, or what?

    1968 289s

I was reading through this thread where there was a discussion re: the rareness of 289s in 1968 cars. I know that at some point in 1968 Ford started replacing the 289 with the 302, but I'm wondering when that was and how many of each were made. My car's an original 289 (unfortunately the 289...

    Scoop or Cowl Hood?

Looks like it goes on top of the air cleaner housing so that the carb can draw air from the opening in the cowl.

    Scoop or Cowl Hood?

Cowls look meaner than scoops IMO :nice:

A Long Long Way To Go

Depends on the song. When Bohemian Rhapsody comes on you just HAVE to crank it up and headbang :D (yes, I often get funny stares from people in the cars next to me)

    REAR AXLE

Also, if you're going to be doing this sort of thing often you'll probably want to invest in a Ford Repair Manual (SuperDave's Timeless Wisdom #7) and maybe a Chiltons. I always keep both handy.

    Done with Ebay!! (rant)

Email scams are only one way this type of thing can be done, another way is that the person could break into your actual computer. Once they're on your system it's very easy to use what is called a key logger to capture everything you type and send it back to whoever broke in. There were even...

    Proportioning valve

I don't have that exact proportioning valve, but the design looks to be simmilar to mine. The line from the larger resovoir on my MC goes to a distribution block which splits it out into lines for the driver and passenger side front brakes. The line from the smaller resovoir goes to the...

Just about the worst luck ever......

I agree, tools in the car is just good sense. I have some hoses, belts, ATF, oil, chiltons, ford repair manual, and my socket set in the back of mine. You still get credit for swapping the clutch in her driveway though :nice:

Just about the worst luck ever......

So lemme get this straight. Not only did you swap out a bad clutch in some girl's driveway prior to a date, but you also actually had a spare clutch with you? You, sir, are "hardcore."
