:nice: Dying to hear your impressions after first WOT run! You are keeping the stroker for some time and not going w/SC right :D ? Enjoy

New Cobra Replica intake made in China?!!

"Walk around a dimly lit work station in a manufacturing plant some day and observe how the well compensated worker squints to see the detail that is expected of him ... then tell me about how high-on-the-hog they've got it" Plants I've visited in Taiwan & Africa weren't dimmly let and the...

New Cobra Replica intake made in China?!!

Per unit includes labor costs this is why work outsourced out of the US. Also, although we pay them nothing by your standards they are actually being paid a premium over their normal wages living better lives now then if they didn't work there. Those who are defending buying US prodcuts...

New Cobra Replica intake made in China?!!

"I hope the people who are buying Chinese goods and all gittey because they saved a buck or two are the first one's shot on the battlefield." Take a close look at the stuff you own and find out where it comes from, might be in for a real bad surprise! Shoes, clothing, electrical components...

    Future Combo: Your Thoughts

I would ditch Cobra intake, TFS-1 cam and shorties for something like RPM intake, LTs and slightly larger but not too large because of 3.55s.

Quick question on torquing lower manifold

"The distributer is being a bitch and not wanting to go all the way in. " Make sure that the oil pump shaft has proper clearance in it! I had same problem many years back where distributor would not seat properly and I never gave thought that the FMS hardened shaft was too tall. Found out...

    any B cammers out there?

Many many years ago I had 3.08s, ported stock heads and B303...car was a dog until I tossed in 3.73s. Then it was fun but if I knew then what I know now I would have opted for something else. It also made died out @5200rpm and considering you have stock unported heads I would figure you'll...

What is the best H/C/I combo for a stock

No the numbers above are rwhp numbers notice the difference between running on an engine dyno and in a car with accessories and realistic exhaust...the point I'm making here. On engine dyno it was still holding its own upto 5500rpm where they shut it off.

What is the best H/C/I combo for a stock

"The 266 pulls to about 6K ... (like you said) it moves through the r's so fast that if it quits at 5500, I don't notice a great deal. Initially I had the 282 and swapped it due to an erratic idle issue that I knit-picked myself over. " Was this is in 302 or 347, different animals. Had a...

What is the best H/C/I combo for a stock

Somewhere around 9psi should get you there. Toss that motor into a car with accessories and a realistic exhaust and watch what happens to power numbers. For reference the AFR185 motor above that made 305rwtq @ 2250rpm made 400 fwhp on an engine dyno like this test then 275rwhp in the...

What is the best H/C/I combo for a stock

Assuming stock block is solid just get a decent set of heads and used Edel RPM (old style) then slap a SC on it..should be able to make 350rwhp easily with a good tune.

What is the best H/C/I combo for a stock

Shot for 10:1cr and Crower 15513 (w/1.7's) cam will give you what you're looking for. Nice lump at idle, put up good numbers and comfortable to cruise around town with. Of course a custom is always nice but what ever cam you choose make sure to get correct springs and vlv train geometry is set...

What is the best H/C/I combo for a stock

"Probe 347 street fighter stroker kit, aft afr 185's, rpm II intake, not sure what cam, probably custom, 70mm tb, 75 maf, soem type of fuel pump, bbk lt's o/r X pipe, and idk what cat back" Way too many factors left out to give a decent estimate but probably safe to say anywhere between...

What is the best H/C/I combo for a stock

Installed the new 306 (afr 185's, ported stock intake, stock cam, 65mm tb, bolt-ons) in the '90. Put in a T5, still has stock 2.73's. Here are the chassis dyno numbers (dynojet at Walsh Motorsports): rwhp/rwtq 2250 130/305 (initial reading) 2500 148/310 3000 188/328 3500 232/346 3700...

    gramatelli front coil overs ?

Those who installed the granatelli front coil overs did you reistall the little bushing that goes around sturt shaft and sits under top perch? It would have to go/rest on top of the top piece of the coil overs or did you leave it out?

    Block Prep and Boring Cost?

Depends on your area, around here you'll be hard pressed to find someone respectable to prep a block for less than $750.

    Stroker Combo Ideas/Opinions

I would add to the above parts, shoot for atleast 10:1cr, Edel RPM intake, 30lb inj, minimum 75mm MAF, ditch the shorties and get some decent 1 5/8" LTs than either a custom cam or something like Crower 15513 cam. Ought to easily hit your numbers and make for one fun street car! I ran...

    331, Which Intake?

Depends on the cam, throw a 230-240 cam in there and GT40 is not your best option. GT40 will make torque but is going to need a fair amount of porting to make power past 5000rpm. I personally would use a RPM intake, should match heads and cammed right should make great torque.

Mods you wish you had not made???

Mods I regret: 1. FMS lowering springs...car has never sat or driving right since but am hoping coil overs waiting to go on will cure that. 2. Summit catback...got tired of spending money on exhausts but should have spent a little more again 3. Densecharger CAI...POS 4. Going with...

    Base timing vs. Advance timing

Improving MPH means your making more power but you don't see it in your ETs because either your driving or traction is off. Post all info from both runs.
