Need some advice relative to new wheels, discs, and possibly rearend

As long as you have the proper backspacing you are ok to run 17x8s. 4.5 is the norm but 4.75 would be ideal. I run 17x8 Edelbrock 454 on my 66 Mustang.

    Need advice on new delima

I'm in the process of doing paint first and interior a close second. The reason being for me is from experience it's less expensive in the long run. 66 Mustang interior kits are a couple hundred dollars depending on what you want done. I'm actually having my headliner done right after the...

    Subframe connectors......its time,take the poll!!!!!

I have a somewhat related question. I'm looking into putting subframe connectors on my car as we speak but my issue comes with the existing front frames. The PO must have jacked the car up on the left frame rail and it's dented in a half-inch or so. My brother seems to think it's fine and not...

    Radio Installation Pics wanted

Before we get started I'd like to stay away from the "To cut or not to cut" dash debates if I could. This post is mostly aimed at those people that have cut their dashes already or received a car with a cut dash. I value everyone's opinion on the subject however. I'm looking for pictures of...

    Cragar rim size quetion

I am by no means a expert on mustangs but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that 15x10 wheels won't fit on a "stock" 66 Mustang setup. I own a 66 mustang coupe that I get to wrench on here and there and I have 17x8 Edelbrock 454s on the back of my car. It's tight back there even with...

    UPDATE 289 is officially dead!

Hey Nick (Dodgestang), Email some info on that engine if you would. I'm putting together a winter project that could include a motor for my 66 Mustang. I'd be interested in that motor perhaps and since you live in the great state of Maryland as I do it would be easier to pick it up. Let...

Manual trannys in '65s, show me your shifters.

I don't have a picture of it but I believe the Hurst handle in the above picture is the same one they sell on www.moderndriveline.com that I bought for my T-5. It's perfect length for me, it makes the throw a touch longer but it looks great and you don't have to contort yourself to shift ;).

    Aftermarket wheels

I have the 454s on my 66, with the spinners they look great. If you can find a set without the person trying to beat you over the head for them...

    Kickpanel with Speaker holes

I've read a few things about them and peoples trouble getting speakers to fit in them. I'm just wondering what size speaker do people use on a average. I have a brand new set of 5 1/4" JBL speakers sitting in a box I'd like to use but I'd rather not spend the money for kickpanels and not be...

    Starting to Panic a little...

Well on my 66 Coupe with only a Shelby drop 4.25 BS Edelbrock 454s with 225/45/17 on back fit and I could have gone to a 235 easy and on the front I put 205/40/17 which are to small and could have easily gone to a 215/45/17 and had a good inch to spare. The 225/45/17s fit up front but filled it...

    Starting to Panic a little...

According to my research 205 is the lowest and my father confirmed that just now. I'm going to do some measuring tonight, thanks a ton for the help.

    Starting to Panic a little...

Ok, thanks for the quick response. Answer me a few more questions though. With playing around with measurements and wheel statistics if I drop to a 205/45/17 I lose 1.07 off the overall diameter of your 235/45/17 and 1.18 off the section width. I'd rather not go smaller than a 45 series...

    Starting to Panic a little...

Well some background before I go into my possible problem. I have a 66 Mustang Coupe with a 289 basically stock. Drums all around but would like to do discs this winter so I can get through the projects I have on the table now. Ok here is my problem... I recently ran into a guy selling a set...
