67-68 guys, where is your bottom radiator hose ?

But wait theres more! Another advantage of the crossflow is it's thinner than a 3 or 4 core replacement and therefore has more room for things like electric fans, serpentine without pulley interference. The drivers side return also gives you the option for underdrive pulleys and overall more...

67-68 guys, where is your bottom radiator hose ?

If you prefer to restore your car stock, then leave it. If your into mods like most on this forum, do whatever you want given your plan or current setup. Your timing pointer will be a determining factor and maybe your damper too. You can get whats called a double pass crossflow rad that has...

    Cam advice for 331 Stroker

Good points jerry. I want to clarify that the builder just "massages" the AFR's, not machine them entirely which is part of their magic to get the extra HP when compared to other builds offering similair strokers. My "raw" statement was not accurate, sorry for any confusion.

    Cam advice for 331 Stroker

Blue66tang The car may see some track time but likely rare, I'm trying to resist the drug as I might get hooked. brianj5600 I'm extremely confident in my builders abilities with the motor and the headwork and they can easily choose an off the shelf cam from Comp, ect.. since they don't...

    Cam advice for 331 Stroker

Allcar, I believe they buy them as ported and then work their magic on to them. What 282 are you referring to?

    Cam advice for 331 Stroker

Ordered a 331 stroker with all forged internals and AFR 185 heads. The builder will order the raw 185 heads and cnc them based on his own recipe. The engine will include the following: 5.0 roller block, 9.8/1 compresssion, RPM airgap intake, Demon 650 vac/sec, custom longtube 1 5/8 headers...

    Coolest blue engine paint?

Edbert, thanks for the contrasting pics. What brand and # did you use, spraycan or brush? Did you do a clearcoat?

Anyone using 1 3/4 long tube headers?

James have you called Fordpowertrain.com yet that was mentioned in a previous post of yours? Your choices are limited to $400?-500 for "off the shelf" 1 3/4 long tubes in which you'll likely have clearance issues. But if you call fordpowertrain or accufab, you'll get a way better solution...

    Coolest blue engine paint?

Thanks for all the ideas and taking the time to post pics, very helpful. And a special thanks to 65ShelbyClone for the engine pic with the ol' Mickey Thompson valve covers, almost gets me misty remembering my first car - 67 Coupe with centerlines and airshocks for the stinkbug look. The...

    Coolest blue engine paint?

I have to pick out a paint color for my engine builder. Been searching the threads and looks like Plasti-kote #224 and Duplicolor DE1606 seem to be the "correct" Ford Dark Blue colors. I remember seeing someones engine on this formum and it looked like an awesome blue but I can't seem to find...

    Cut Pile: Carpet

Great choice, the cut pile looks so much better in a modified car in my opinion, plus its easier to clean as the loop traps things. When I was shopping last year for pile carpet, everything that I found was made made by ACC. The benefit with them is it is molded and padded for a decent...

    biggest header for a 302?

checkout www.fordpowertrain.com, sounds like you need at least 1 3/4". They had the a great longtube solution for me on my 67 with 302 and AOD combination. Ground clearance will be excellant, they cost a little more but with your combination it probably makes sense.

How do you like my engine??

Great engine and build Mustangau! How and where did you find those cobra valve covers to clear the rockers? I have heard that they won't clear rockers but looks like you found the taller source. Did you get the air cleaner at the same place?

which Headers on 67 with 331 stroker, AOD and PS

In my case, I didn't care since I'm going to R&P while were doing the swap. If I remember correctly, I don't think it mattered. Call or check his website to make sure but likely you'll be fine.

which Headers on 67 with 331 stroker, AOD and PS

Thanks for your tips guys. A special thanks to S-Car-Go for the ford powertrain tip, they have my solution. I spoke to Stan (owner) of FPT, super knowledgable, precise and helpful. You'll have more ground clearance with thier long tube header than any others. For me it was with no...

Edelbrock air gap intake and hood clearance

You'll be in good shape with hood clearance with just about any style aircleaner on that car with the RPM intake. 351W is when you may get into clearance issues. Or you can use the 1" drop down style round ones that are available from Edelbrock , Moroso ect.. for even more clearance, I think...

which Headers on 67 with 331 stroker, AOD and PS

Those headers from Headman are more for the 351 swap and as we know that engine is taller and slightly wider combined with the exhaust port face angle, its a whole new ballgame with the 302 so I'm still not sure if those will work. I've also decided to do the TCP power R&P which will eliminate...

    Carb recommendation

I had one similiar (600cfm) on my 67 coupe with mild 289 back in the day. It was a great carb and even a 19 year old knucklehead like me could figure out how to tune it. You'll also get great highway mileage with that carb with the vacs.

    alternator question

I picked up a 3G Powermaster "one wire" from Summit or Jegs last year. I have not installed it yet but the "one wire" was the whole point along with the 140 amp upgrade. It's the same one from the Mustang Monthly June 2005 install article. I'm hoping it will be the last alternator I'll ever...

    Prothane motor mounts

In the 5.o tech there was mention of interference with these motor mounts and Canton oil pans and some headers hitting them too, whats new. Looks like Edbert has a Milidon 7 or 8qt pan which must clear. I think I remember him trimming a curved tab on the car bracket mounts or something to...
