Expired 90 Lx 5.0 Modded, Delaware

Hello, I'm looking for a good home to pass on my Mustang. It's served me well, but my interests have changed and I need the garage space. Asking $8000, negotiable. I'm in Middletown, DE. More pics also available for easier viewing: View: http://imgur.com/a/S5Boi Car is red with titanium...

Brakes Trouble W/ 93 Cobra Booster In 90, Brake Switch Interference

I was able to complete the install over the weekend and after a quick drive, I can finally say I have decent braking power! For me, the 93 booster was a necessity to complement the big cam and Baer sport brake kit. Pedal effort is normal and I can finally lock up the brakes on a panic stop...

Brakes Trouble W/ 93 Cobra Booster In 90, Brake Switch Interference

How can I measure bore size on a MC? Do I have to disassemble it? Thing is, I don't know exactly which one I have. I'm not sure if Baer provided this MC or if the original owner's mechanic sourced it. Some Google searching turned up a thread saying Baer provides a 15/16" MC. I saw nothing...

Brakes Trouble W/ 93 Cobra Booster In 90, Brake Switch Interference

Mustang5L5 I believe it is an SN95 MC but I don't know how to identify it. I once had a 93 Cobra MC that I decided not to swap in. They both look exactly the same, except the 93 Cobra MC had no code cast into the bottom of the unit. The SN95 had some numbers, but I never wrote them down while...

Brakes Trouble W/ 93 Cobra Booster In 90, Brake Switch Interference

You may be right, but I believe the limiting factor here is low engine vacuum. The brake setup is more specifically a Baer brake setup that uses C4 Corvette front/rear calipers. I don't know bore sizes, but it's a kit made for the Fox bodies. I spoke with a tech at Baer and after explaining my...

Brakes Trouble W/ 93 Cobra Booster In 90, Brake Switch Interference

Here's a pic of the switch on the brake pedal peg/booster rod without the wire connector attached, looking straight up from the floor, firewall directly to the right. To the left is the steering column brace that switch is hanging just above. I attach the wire connector and the connector...

Brakes Trouble W/ 93 Cobra Booster In 90, Brake Switch Interference

So, I decided to upgrade the brake booster to a '93 Cobra booster to see if it'd fix my weak brakes. Weak, as in, I can't lock up the brakes at any speed. I've had weak brakes in my car since I bought it. It's pretty modified, so here's a quick background: 5.0 with HCI, Baer sport 4-wheel...

Rebuilding T-5, output snap ring won't fit!

Thanks for all the tips everybody. I finally figured out what I did and it's a total noob mistake. I used the wrong snap ring. I put the skinny snap ring on the 2nd gear and expected to put the thick snap ring on 5th gear, when it should've been the other way around. Once I realized this...

Rebuilding T-5, output snap ring won't fit!

Thanks. I've tried both old and new roller bearings and there's no difference in clearance. I measured the old and new snap ring thickness with calipers and they're identical. I did try unsuccessfully tapping the clip in, but maybe I wasn't pounding it hard enough. I really expected it to...

Rebuilding T-5, output snap ring won't fit!

Update: I feel like I've tried every combination so far. Finally, I stripped down the shaft and put on as few parts as possible to press on the gear. So here, I pressed on only the 1st speed gear race, rear roller bearing, and the 5th speed gear. I left out the 1st speed gear, synchro rings, and...

Rebuilding T-5, output snap ring won't fit!

The new parts are: - 1/2 slider - keys/springs in 1/2 and 3/4 hub - rear roller bearing - 2nd/3rd needle bearings (1st bearing wasn't included in FRPP kit, apparently due to price gouging by Tremec -- $32!) - all synchro rings - snap ring and spiral lock Your pics are consistent with fitment...

Rebuilding T-5, output snap ring won't fit!

I'm in a rebuild of my car's T-5 transmission where I'm just freshing it up as well as putting in a new 1/2 slider and reverse idler. Everything else checked out ok. During reassembly, the output shaft is giving me trouble trying to fit the snap ring on the 5th speed driven gear. Has...

Double DIN unit in a fox body?

I decided to forego mounting this head unit. Everything seems to fit with exception to clearance at the bottom where it contacts the transmission tunnel and the dash bracket behind it. The faceplate fits perfectly. The rear support bracket transfers right over. The local car audio shop had...

Double DIN unit in a fox body?

So far as I can tell, the Shaker 1000 head unit only relies on an external amp for the subwoofer. Interior speakers should connect right up using both wire harness and reverse harness adapters, which I have on order at the moment. I'll follow up with fitment when all the parts come in.

Double DIN unit in a fox body?

I got a Shaker 1000 head unit from a 2008 Mustang for pretty cheap to see if it'll go in my 1990 LX. I'm able to slide it about half way in until it rubs on the carpet under the radio location and won't go any more. Are there any install kits that make this easy and hopefully without hacking...

    Adding Sync?

What about retrofitting into an older model, like a fox body? I have a double-DIN opening that looks like it'll fit the touch screen. And I'm sure I can find a place to mount the module and various connections. What I can't connect to is the vehicle computer, which I assume is for vehicle...
