    Cj Pony Parts

I have recently had a number of issues with CJ Pony Parts and I was curious if everyone has had the same issues.....I am finally to the point of putting my 67 back together and ordered ALLOT of parts from CJ. The 2 times I have tried to use my RPM points portions of the order were on backorder...

67 Mustang 9" Pion Seal Replacement

I believe they changed the design and that is what was throwing me off.

67 Mustang 9" Pion Seal Replacement

I started to replace the pinion seal in my mustang and I need to know how to get the defector out of the rear end without damaging it....I have looked all over and it does not look like you can buy new ones and I looked in my shop manual and it does not state how to remove it....

    Radios

I was planning on using my stock radio for just the 4 X 10 in the dash. I was going to put in a Custom Autosound secret audio radio and speakers in the kick panes and the rear. This will allow me to keep the sound and the look of the original radio but have the option for everything else when...

289 Kaput - Next Steps Advice From This Great Forum

I pulled my 390 with the transmission in an afternoon. I removed the starter, alternator, fan and a few other misc. items. Remove the carb and use a lift plate. Once you get it hooked up take a little weight off of it and remove the transmission support. Just unhook the clutch fork from the...

    68' Project With Son

The brake and fuel lines might not be worth saving. If you do remove them bag the clips for both brake and fuel. I am not sure if the 68 has an emergency brake line bracket welded to the bottom of the floor pan but if it does remove it and save it. It should clean up and be able to be reused...

    68' Project With Son

I bought a used Blue Point welder and it was a good machine but the drive wheel and tension pieces wore out. I could spend $75 on parts or I could buy a new basic one from Harbor Freight. I think it cost me $115. It has been a great unit and does spot welds great. It does not give you a ton...

    68' Project With Son

You will hear the same mantra from most on here, do it right the first time and it will be a long time before you do it again! Most pieces and parts are not expensive but when you need one of everything it is a long list!

    68' Project With Son

Don't get discouraged, these are almost 50 year old cars and Ford did not build them to last that long. They did not spray anything in a lot of areas of the car so you see the same rust all the time.

    68' Project With Son

I got lucky with mine and the rust was only on the drivers side floor and toe board and a small part of the passenger side. If suspect any rust on the tunnel save you money, do it right and repave the entire floor. If you do not get it all you will be pulling it back apart and redoing it...

    68' Project With Son

Looks like a Mustang! It is great to see your kids "helping"! Patch panels are great but keep in mind that they stamp them for a range of years. You will need to do some trimming and some gentle persuading with a hammer. That is great that Dallas Mustang is close by. I am up near Denton...

    68' Project With Son

I would start by pulling out the interior. You will never know what you have until you can really see it. Try to keep it as a roller until you are sure it is somewhere where it is going to stay for a while. I had mine pulled apart and had to put it back together to take it to a sand blaster...

    68' Project With Son

My dad bought my 67 in 69 after returning from Vietnam. 35 years later he passed it on to me. I thought it was pretty clean, the cowl was in good shape and looking at it with everything together it looked great and ran! Once I started taking everything apart, and I do mean EVERYTHING I found...

67 Gt Fastback S Code Or Shelby Clone

I have the same car and I would not even think about doing a clone. If it is a numbers matching car you would be better off leaving it as is, there are not many of them left. The clone is overdone and I think the novelty is wearing off of them. Just my $.02. I just hate seeing a unique car...

    68' Project With Son

Look in the cowl. This is an area that collects water and is toast in allot of the cars. If you do end up with a car that has a rusted out cowl it is a major ordeal to cut it out and replace it. If the seller will let you crawl under the dash and have someone pour water into the cowl vents...

    Trip Odometer Dials

I pulled my spedo from my 67 and most of the numbers are gone from the trip odometer dials. Does anyone know if these are a resell part anywhere? I have looked through all of the usual Mustang part houses. Thank you, Mark

    Door Skin.....

I have some rust in the lower front corner of the passenger side door. The area is about 6" X 6". Question is, would it be better to replace the entire door skin or just the rusted corner? On one hand I hate to trash good original steel but on the other is it better to replace the entire skin?

Replacing Coil Springs From My 1968 Shelby Gt500

I used the double hook kind and if you use them you will need about 30 washers to put between the top set of hooks and the nut on the top of the screw. If you do not do this is will bottom out on the bottom spring perch before it ever compresses. The style with the top hook and bottom shim. I...

Replacing Coil Springs From My 1968 Shelby Gt500

No you do not need to take of the lower arm. If you try to do this the spring will come out. You will want to put a jack under the lower control arm to compress the spring, take out the shock and let it back down on a jack stand. If you try to put in the compressor with the spring partially...
