Lower control arm ball joint - what size are the threads?

Ball joint thread I believe they are 9/16ths fine thread, same as the strut rod ends. Might be easier to replace the ball joint.

question about my energy suspension bushings

Cut the old shells out any way you can. Sawzall, torch, die grinder. The new bushings will be a very tight fit.

    Milodyne bushings, worse than poly.

I had a thought, The strut rod bushings were much narrower than the stock units. With the bushings being thinner, the strut rod nut needed an extra washer, and needed tightening to the ends of the thread to get tight. Perhaps this is putting the entire system in a bind, therefore causing the...

    Milodyne bushings, worse than poly.

I recently purchased a milodyne front end rebuild kit off ebay, from Laurel mountain mustang, And after my initial disgust of all the parts labeled "Made in Mexico", I rebuild my front end. The kit contained UCA, LCA and sway bar links, as well as ball joints installed. Kit was easy to...

    Headers with T5

I recently added a T5 tranny to my 66 coupe. I also swapped my junkyard headers for stock manifolds. I love the transmission, but miss the high end pull I used to have. Clutch cable clearance is the issue. Whis header clears or fits the best? Anyone like heddman shorties?

    66 I6 Tranny options

fordsix.com has lots of T5 swap info. THe 170 and 200 had loads of low end torque, and works better than you would think with an overdrive.

    Accel, Crane, Mallory, Pertronix

Duraspark :nice: I am completely satified with my duraspark, and I trust it completely. I currently use a gm HEI module for the electronic trigger, but can easily mate to a MSD, Accell or whatever kind od CD box is available. Right now, Summit is selling a digital copy of the 6A, for about...

    '87 5.0 in my 1966GT....need motor help!

Pull the #1 spark plug, and rotate engine by hand till #1 is on comperession, AND timing pointer is at zero for top dead center. Pull off cap to see if rotor is pointing anywhere near #1 on cap. I had similar problems and could not advance far enough to get it to run right. backed all wires 1...

    Back up Lamp Switch

Suki, I have a 3 speed manual, that had a brass push button type switch, that was depressed when shifted into reverse. I put a later model c4 in, and tied the switch up out of the way. The factory auto probably had someting similar on the shift rod assembly. Hope this helps.

    Voltage regulator

Wow, I guess my parts car was more valuable than I thought. I cant believe ford didn't use internal regulators by 1980, when delcos had em for at leat 10 years. Thanks, guys.

    Voltage regulator

externally, the 1980 granada alternator is near identical to the 1966. I just assumed it would have an internal regulator. I wired it exactly like the stock unit.

    Voltage regulator

I replaced the stock 60 amp externally regulator with a stock 1980 granada alternator, (100amp?) with an internal regulator. If I unplug the regulator on my 66 stang, alternator does not charge, and the electric fan runs down the battery. I thought maybe using a jumper wire on the 2 12v hot...

Has anyone purchased this Hot Rod Air electric fan?

Dave, have you made arrangements to sell your old radiator/fan yet? I would be very interested. Thanks, Tim

    Fuel-Inject

My advice is to buy a brand new 600 holley with electric choke. If that doesn't satisfy you, try a TBI conversion for around 1000 bucks. www.affordable-fuel-injection.com or http://www.howell-efi.com/ck_tbi_index.html.

What is the purpose of the bypass hose

Hey Dave, Has your problem ceased now that the outside temps have risen? What brand is that aluminum radiator you are using? My stock 3 core, with a solid fan and shroud still runs hot at idle and very slowly cools at cruise. I like your rad/fan setup, and obviously it works well.:nice:

    Anyone runing Roush heads

I have the windsor Jr heads, and just like most on the board here, feel the large valve and intake runners are too big for a modest 302. With an E or F cam, the enging really comes alive around 3000 rpm, but suffers greatly on the bottom end, regardless of cam size. So, If you want a drag...

    Holley carb help

I recently had a bad experience with a new holley. I bought a polished 600 vaccuum secondary, with electric choke. It was tempermental from day one. It loaded up at idle, even when set lean. I took it apart to find most of the zinc flaking off and white rust under the cracked/peeling...

    AFR or TW

On a relatively stock roller 302, what would be the best choice for a carburated application, AFR 165, or Trick Flow twisted wedge? I am not concerned about the difference in price.

    AFR or Twisted Wedge?

I just rebuilt a 91 302, installed a crane 2020, and topped it off with a pair of Windsor Jr heads, Offenhouser dual plane and a new 600 holley. I am disapointed to say the least. I think the 180 cc intake runners are killing the bottom end, and the cam is too small to develop power on top...
