    79-93 8.8 rear ends identical?

'79-'85- 7.5" Rear '86-'93- 8.8" Rear The reason FRPP specs '87-'93 is because of the front rotors. The spindles used on the '87 and up cars are larger than on the '79-'86 and '87-'93 4cyls. The rear componets will work with both a 7.5 and an 8.8, but the front spindles will have to be changed...

Car won't run on HO firing order

You could have a standard 86+ passcar engine in there. It would still have a roller cam, but would use the non-HO firing order. It will also have the crappy E6SE heads too. That wouldn't surprise me at all, especially if it's a parts store special.

    Common Ground Radio Q's

Okay, I want to make sure I get this right, My '86 GT did not have a radio when I bought it, and it had what I understand is Premium Sound (amp in middle of dash). One of the previous owners cut the harness at the RADIO end, so I do have both sets of plugs (from the dash harness and from the...

What size belt with no smog or ac?

Weird. With my FMS a/c delete, no smog, 3G, and U/D's, I ended up with a 735K6 belt.

    Replacing PCV valve.

The PCV is on the lower intake directly behind where the upper meets the lower. Stick your hand in that spot, and when you feel a thick rubber hose, grab it and pull it out. Installation is the reverse of removal. Another trick is to surf Ebay and find a pic of a lower intake, the big hole dead...

SN95 Block vs Fox Body Block

Nosfurato, I think I just interpreted some of your post wrong. Pokageek, The block will generally break first. They usually split down the lifter valley. It is possible to break pistons, rods, and the crank, but that is usually caused by another factor, like detonation or pistons hitting...

SN95 Block vs Fox Body Block

Actually, Mexican blocks were made in Mexico for Mexican use, the blocks in a fox body, or most anyother North American Ford were all made in the U.S. Ford switched to Hypers because they produce less or no cold slap, and they can run tighter tolerances with them. They are also cheaper. The...

pics of different headers on GT40P heads?

The biggest problem, is getting plugs out again. If I'm lucky, I could get 4 or 5 plugs out, and the shorty's wouldn't make much of a difference. Besides, the Accel shorties for P heads are almost a $100 a set! I'll try and get better pics of them in the car and on both sides so you guy's can...

pics of different headers on GT40P heads?

This is a great idea. If we can get more pics or peoples expierience of what does and doesn't work on P heads (Pics would be the best). Maybe we can get this stickied so everyone will have the answers to the P header dilemma! Here's my contribution on the " Doesn't work well" side...

What is the fuel capacity of a 90 LX?

All Mustang tanks since '82 have been 15.4 Gallons. '79-'81 tanks were 12.5.

is a 85 5.0 worht puttin any money into?

Hey Webshot, hang on to that '84! Alot of guys on here seem to think that if it doesn't have a roller cam and ab 8.8, it's junk and you can't do anythink with it. Here's some things to consider: A flat tappet is cheaper and can make just as much power as a hydraulic roller, 7.5's are...

    # of Cats on Fox Body H-Pipe

Ah Hissin, you're killing me! :) Don't take this as gospel, but I've read that the "pre" cats are one ways and that the second is a two way. The pre's are there because they heat up faster and reduce emissions while the car is cold. After market pipes use 2 3-way cats.

    # of Cats on Fox Body H-Pipe

To clear it all up: The above picture is correct (with minor differences) for all '86-'2004 'stangs with a factory H-pipe. The pre cats are the 2 small ones right after the header flanges(1 on each side). Pre '86's did come with 2 or 3 cats, but they were also equipped with either a...

Why are you Mustang and Cobra buyers so CHEAP.

The biggest problem is, is that most of us know the truth. As much as we love 'stangs, the bottom line is that they are nothing more than a spiffed up Fairmont. When us 'stang guys see or hear of people selling their 10 plus year old cars near, for or over the 10 G mark, we all shake our heads...

Does my '88GT have roller lifters?

Almost correct. Factory Roller Rockers only came on '93-'95 Cobra's. All other's came with standard stamped steel rocker arms.
