Cervinis 4" and 2.5" cowl hoods - Please post pics

Hello, I'm thinking about getting a Cervinis 4" or 2.5" cowl hood, bolt-on (not lift-off), probably with the finished underside liner. I hear the quality and fit are good, and I like the screened rear vents. I also like the fact that it comes with a white gel coat, which will sort of match my...

Loud Droning Engine - Will Cervinis Hood Liner Suppress The Droning?

I patched the muffler holes with 6 layers of metal muffler tape, and that seemed to reduce the drone. I don't know if it's as quiet as it was with the hood liner. I wonder if new mufflers would be quieter than my patched old mufflers. Anyway, I'm still thinking about getting the...

Loud Droning Engine - Will Cervinis Hood Liner Suppress The Droning?

Thanks, billison. I guess I'll just get some new mufflers, maybe some aftermarket mufflers that aren't very loud.

Loud Droning Engine - Will Cervinis Hood Liner Suppress The Droning?

Here are some photos. The holes are mainly on the passenger side muffler, and mainly in the back and front. There aren't any holes on the bottom, and I can't see the top. Passenger side rear: http://www.mustangmods.com/ims/u/2198/3911/82481.jpg Passenger side front...

Loud Droning Engine - Will Cervinis Hood Liner Suppress The Droning?

By the way, I wonder if the droning has something to do with the fact that my mufflers, which are stock, have holes in them, in the back and front of the mufflers. I guess the mufflers have corroded or something, causing the holes.

Loud Droning Engine - Will Cervinis Hood Liner Suppress The Droning?

And here's another thing I found. I wonder how well this would work: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-urbh57Qv78n/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?i=15411905&tab=morephotos&a=&s=0&cc=01&g=890#morephotos Or this: http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=2519&itemType=PRODUCT I like how they install...

Loud Droning Engine - Will Cervinis Hood Liner Suppress The Droning?

Hello, I removed my stock hood liner from my stock hood, because I didn't like the way it looks, and because it had a lot of dirt on it. Now, it seems like the engine sounds louder, which is sort of a good thing, in a way. However, there's a droning component to the loudness, which is...

    Quadshock/tire problem not normal question

Be sure you're actually trying to turn the correct bolt. There's something there that looks like a bolt, but it's actually welded to the frame. I broke a wrench trying to turn it (using a bottle jack), and then realized my mistake. I did remove my quad shocks.

    Clutch cable too short?

Cool, I guess I won't worry about the dust cover. I guess I probably won't worry about the quadrant either, because I've got other stuff I want to do.

    Clutch cable too short?

By the way, now my dust cover won't fit, because the Maximum Motorsports cable has a very long metal piece on the end. Oh well, I guess it's okay to leave the dust cover off. Also, I'm not entirely happy with the way the MM quadrant is now, because I had to remove so much material, and...

    Clutch cable too short?

I agree HISSIN, it does seem like a bad idea, to trim the sheath. In fact, as you probably remember, a broken sheath on my stock clutch cable is what got me into this mess, in the first place. So...I decided to grind the quadrant, about 2/3 of an inch, so now the quadrant hook is 2/3 of an...

    Clutch cable too short?

Well, I tried the Pep Boys clutch cable, which is supposed to work for the 88 Mustang, and it's even shorter than the Maximum Motorsports cable. There must be something weird about my particular car. Maybe I'll try to decrease the length of the cable sheath. Or maybe I'll try...

    Clutch cable too short?

Nope, it didn't come with a firewall grommet. I'm thinking about going to Pep Boys, and getting a cable from there. The sell a brand called "Motormite", but unfortunately it's not adjustable. However, maybe it will be longer. If that doesn't work, then maybe I'll grind the quadrant, or...

    Clutch cable too short?

UPDATE: I fixed it, by grinding 2/3 of an inch off the quadrant. Now it works great! ******************************************************* Hello, I installed a Maximum Motorsports quadrant, and a Fiore firewall adjuster. I am trying to install a Maximum Motorsports cable, the...

    Rear Wheel Bearings in 5.0?

Well, I was thinking that, if it only happened when you were braking, then it may be a brake-related problem. But, if it happens when you're not applying the brakes, then I guess it's not brake-related. Unfortunately, I'm not an expert on this subject, but I'm sure there are some experts...

    Rear Wheel Bearings in 5.0?

Does the clunking noise get faster in frequency, when you are going faster? Does it slow down when the car slows down? In other words, is there a "clunk" every time the rear wheel rotates?

    Rear Wheel Bearings in 5.0?

You have to remove the rear axles, in order to change the bearings. It's not all that hard. I did it. www.50resto.com probably has some. I got some with my 5-lug conversion kit. In order to remove the bearings, you need a slide hammer, which you can rent from a Kragen auto parts store...

school me on wheels and wheel spacers

Here's that thread: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=585637 By the way, if I remember correctly, wheel spacers are usually not allowed at drag strips.
