    Mustang II conversion

With the R&C kit my engine is 1/4" lower then it was stock. The engine is in the exaxt same position front to back. I could have moved the engine back a half inch if I wanted to, but I desided not to for ease of installing and removeing the engine. As for the swing arm length. That is...

    Mustang II conversion

Like slant roof said the suspension is suported the same. The mis-information that states that it is different is propaganda from manufacturers eh hem "Fatman" supporting their product. Want to realy numb your mind...the stock lower control arms were held in place by six spot welds. The MII kits...

Finally Mustang II supension and long tubes

Fostang, I did a search and I think you are talking about Dynomax P/N 85048 1 1/2" primary and 2 1/2" collectors. As for shorties I think just about any will fit. Correct me if I'm wrong? Thanks

Finally Mustang II supension and long tubes

LOL, HUH?? Which headers did you get to fit then? "They" is a little vague. Yes, I did mean a complete kit? LOL  A simple "Yeah these brand X headers fit, but I'm not sure if it will clear the steering shaft." would have been good enough! If anyone else has another set that...

Finally Mustang II supension and long tubes

A while back I asked if anyone has found long tube headers that will fit a 65 Mustang with a Mustang II kit. Well a few people replied but no one has yet found a set that would work. I desided, the only way to figure out which headers would fit, is to buy a set try them and if they don't fit...

How Does My 9" Rearend Rebuild Look?

To get a better contact pattern while turning the pinion put your palm on the ring gear as it turns. This places more pressure on the gears and makes a clearer pattern. Move the camera back a bit and get a pic of the load and coast sides. If you do all that we can help you better.

How Does My 9" Rearend Rebuild Look?

I agree with jmlay71 too far to the outside of the ring gear. You need to lessen the amount of shims it looks like. How did you set the pinion depth? Did you use a pinion depth gage?

Mustang II conversion and long tube headers?

I used mostly the R&C kit. I purchased alot of parts cheaper from differant vendors however. I didn't like the "post" engine mounts they offered and have almost completed making my own that connect to the frame at an angle. The R&C kit is top notch. The TIG welds and over all construction...

Mustang II conversion and long tube headers?

I have a 65 that I converted to a Mustang II style front suspention. I had a set of Hooker SuperComps that I planned on using for my car before the suspention change. Well, they no longer fit due to the steering linkage and the rear sump oil pan. :bang: Has anyone completed a MII kit and found...

Mustang II suspension update & question

Yeah, I thought as much. It sounded sarcastic, but I'd hate to see you just leave it open like that. I figured I'd coment to be sure. Great job BTW. I did my convertion about 6 months ago....but I'm as far as you are now heh. I had to deside what engine I wanted to use and I've made a...

Mustang II suspension update & question

fostang, you either need to triangulate or put a panel in your radiator support to give it some shear strength. Welding up the seams stiffens the chassis. It's a old rally car trick. It really helps alot more then you would think.
